I’m (F 56) just looking for someone to talk to, maybe make a friendly connection.

I know there must be a lot of people here who like jazz, because we have an amazing radio station and lots of local events like the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival. I am looking for other people who would like to see live jazz or jazz-adjacent music like funk & blues, hip hop, even Afrobeat.

Anybody out there who would like to see a show? Maybe meet for coffee first for a vibe check? I am F, Gen X, a friendly introvert & into music in general, dancing, art, food, drink, nature, regular Portland stuff…

My employer is asking me to permanently leave my position while I’m on approved / protected disability leave. I temporarily left a key, full-time position with benefits due to a medical issue, and they are offering me 15 hours a week with no benefits upon return. This appears to be clear retaliation. They are trying to push me out.

They have not given me any time to seek legal counsel. I have contacted the state of Oregon, and even they can’t give me an answer to this basic question: “Do I have to return to my job after Paid Leave Oregon?” My (naive) expectation was that I would return to my existing job, protected by law. What is the requirement after medical leave ends
