I would love to play some horror games, but I am not interested in classic monsters or something fighting focused. I would love to have something that gets it horror out of changing the perception of the player characters suddenly. I would love to have a system that helps me with building a sense of paranoia and disturbing visions/hallucinations ( that may be real).

I am not a fan of Call of Cthulhu, especially the portrayal of mental illness is... offputting. Monster of the Week is too focused on the player characters being somewhat in control.

I would love something with helpless characters struggling to survive through the horror.

my partner and I played Star Crossed some time ago and absolutely loved it, but we would love to try something new. For two players and focused on relationships/romance, can any of you recommend something that might be interesting?

First of all: Thank you guys for posting all your cool stuff, my groups experience would have not been as awesome as it is/was with out you!

But now for my problem: My group consists of a Figther, a Ranger and a Wizard. The Wizard took some gifts of dark powers and has some extra spells and safe guards. The group got all the important magic Items that they could find.

The thing is, I want the fight against Strahd to be scary and hard. But at the same time they are going to fight Vampyr a long rest later, so I still have to turn it up a little bit.
I know there is the Cr17 and the CR27 Statblock for Strahd but the first seems like it could be to weak and the second maybe is to hard

I hope non of my players are on here anyway but if you know about the stolen smutty love letter addressed to Zarek, stop reading here.

At the moment I am working on a oneshot about a selesnya-brainwashing facility. For research, I wanted to read up a bit about the quietmen since I know they were some kind of brainwashed elite force that protected the world tree.

But how were they actually made? Did they have a special uniform or the like? Sadly I do not own the old Ravnica novels so I can't just read it up. Can anybody help me out or maybe give suggestions on how a selsnya vernadi would try to hide the cult-like structure from newcomers?

So I am the DM of a few groups and sometimes run oneshots in-between. I have a pool of regular players and one of them is kinda a problem player but not in the usual way.

(Sorry in case the grammar is weird at some point my English is okay at best)

His characters are always great and the roleplay is on point, the groups likes him and his characters too. The problem is, he doesn't think he is a great player at all. And the thing is for example if he is planning to play a rouge in Session A and someone else in oneshot session B is going to play a rouge, it is going to send my player into a downward spiral.

Today we had our second session (outside of death house) and currently, the party is in barovia village. They met Donavich first and persuaded him to talk to Doru who was chained up in the basement and begged them for food, the party left with a very uneasy feeling about having him chained up there.

Later they meet up with Ismark and Ireena, made plans for the burrial and talked about the situation with Doru, Ismark was sure he was a lost cause but Ireena at least hoped that there was still a chance for him.

Tomorrow I will start to DM CoS for my group, we will start with death house and after that, they will be on lvl3.
I'd like to keep the levelling in the campaign as milestone levelling but I am a bit lost. Because I am unsure when they should get their level ups?

I already read a bunch of stuff on this subreddit and am going to use a bunch of is ( Especially from fleshing out CoS) so it isn't unlikely that the group will reach higher levels than 10.

Hey guys! I am a fairly new GM and ended up with a party consisting of a glamour bard, a fey warlock and ad druid of the circle of dreams(and some others). And since those three all have a connection to the feywild I wanted to take a step in their direction and work more with the concept of the feywild. But here is the problem, the only thing I really found was a rather small passage in the Dungeon Master manual, where can I find more info? I am willing to spend some dollars on books to (prefered digital). Oh, we are playing 5e by the way!

Hey guys! I am (maybe) planning on DM-ing some D&D sessions in between our playgroups usual Call of Cthulhu games. I played edition 3.5 once some years back and would be interested to start anew in edition 5.

But I am unsure if I rather should buy the book regulary or use D&D beyond, wich is the digital variant as far as I understood. Does beyond work good? I own a smartphone, laptop and a tablet PC, so the equipment would be no problem.

Can some of you tell me more about D&D Beyond or your experiences with it?

Hey,I played MtGO activley around RtR and I mostly played phantom queues, since I amonly interessted in limited anyway. I already played some phantom sealed games and figured out how playpoints work and accumulated some of them. But are there still phantom drafts?
