The weather is looking perfect to rug up, sit on a bench and read this weekend., I was wondering if any of you guys had some favourite bench locations?

Somewhere secluded, maybe with a view, I dont mind a walk to get there, just interested in sitting somewhere peaceful.

I got off the train on my way to work and was met by about 10 police officers and what i assume were drug sniffing dogs. The passengers were funneled through a gauntlet of cops for the dogs to do their thing. There were a few people pulled aside and asked to empty their bags.

Whatever your thoughts on this? I was of the understanding that the police can't search you without good reason and with only 15% of searches resulting in drugs being found,(1) I don't think that's a good enough success rate to justify a compulsory search.

I'm not a lawyer and wasn't carrying drugs but it looked and felt like a massive violation of our civil liberties.
