I've created ornaments and am trying to determine the best way to attach the ornament tops. I'm worried hot glue might not hold since I didn't blow out the eggs and they're slightly heavier than usual. Any suggestions?
I'm planning on making a dragon tail blanket for my son (I just finished a mermaid tail for my daughter). I want a stitch that will look like scales, but ideally I'd like it to be mostly black with an edging of blue or green. I like the crocodile stitch look, but I can't figure out how to give each scale an edge of color. I looked at shell stitches too, but would like something with a more 3 dimensional look. Any suggestions for stitches that might achieve the look I'm describing?

I've made two of these sweaters, one for my daughter and one for my niece. Now it's time to make one for me I think.
We have a pair of these guys in a tree at the edge of our property. We live in the Sierra Nevadas, nearish a river. It's not a great picture, taken through my telescope. I know it's probably a red shouldered hawk, but it seems really big for that. Any thoughts?
It's 2:00 a.m. I woke up, I thought because of my hubby's snoring. I turn over and look at the baby monitor and both kids are awake. Not fussing or saying anything, just sitting in bed awake. What?! Why?!
I know it's irrational, but ever since we had norovirus last year I am constantly concerned about it. I feel a little neurotic about it. I know that it's manageable and we'll likely have it again and be fine, but I can't get it out of my brain. The worry over my kids picking it up occupies way to much of my mental space. How do I stop?
My son, 4, has been an awesome sleeper since he was little. Some nights though... Tonight he was in bed at 7. All the usual bedtime routines. 3 hours later and he's still messing around in his bed. He never gets out of bed. Just tossed and turned. He's not even complaining of making much noise, but he's definitely awake. So how long do you let them go before checking in. Or do I even bother.
I got sick in the middle of the night on Saturday. Not to be too graphic, but violent diarrhea all night. By morning I was done, but feeling exhausted. Of course this is the one time my husband is out of town in a year. So I handle all the kid stuff for the day. Now I'm fine, but I can't shake the anxiety that one of them is going to wake up in the middle of the night sick. Whether it was something I ate or something I picked up if they haven't gotten it yet, they're probably not going to get it right?
