I have been on the hunt for my ‘perfect’ crochet hook. I have a wooden furls hook. I love the handle shape, the length of the shank, etc. I dislike the drag, it’s too light, but most importantly I hate the head! I like a tapered head. The clover hook head is pretty good but it could be a little pointier. The cost of the furls hook is pretty high for my budget especially if I don’t know if I will like the head shape.
I was wanting to do something to help the family esp the kids with something small. The only thing that I came up with is a little dog paw to clip on backpacks. I have been able to find a pattern. I am open to any ideas because my brain power is letting me down. Thanks!
I have seen some cute patterns and some funny patterns. I am in need of one and thought I could use some brainstorming help. ( FYI I looked in Revelry but it can be overwhelming and difficult to narrow things down.)
I’m really struggling mentally while watching over my amazing mom in law and trying to comfort her best as I can. I usually have a project for hospital stays but my current wip is one I picked to learn new skills. I have a couple of balls of bulky yarn (6) and I would like a pillow/pillow cover or something like a lap blanket. However, looking for a pattern is just too much for me at the moment. The yarn is just one color. I feel like something more complicated than granny squares but a repeating pattern might be good. It’s been so draining already but there is still a while to go (my mil is at the end of her battle with ALS) and my brain is barely functioning. Thanks in advance!
I live in a retail desert with few yarn options and those options keep getting smaller. Ollie’s is a regional discount store with rotating stock. I have started seeing yarn there occasionally! My last trip there were Red Heart Super Saver in huge skeins, Lion Brand cakes and a fringe yarn. Prices were about 1/3 or 1/2 less than original. There was not a much variety of colors but the colors they had were from the same dye lot. I thought this might help some people in my type of situation.
I’m using mitered granny squares but I need triangles to complete the cardigan and my brain can’t figure it out. Help!
reddit.com/gallery/1gwwbuwI was very sick for a few years and my hair is much thinner and finer than it used to be. I am getting healthier and I think my hair is starting to come back but it’s is impossible to tame. I have long hair but the regrowth(?) is about two inches long. I have been wearing a lot of store bought knit cloth headbands but would like to make some for variety and personalization. Would love some ideas and patterns (preferably free) to help me feel better about my hair situation.
My MIL has asked me to make her a cardigan. She has ALS and is loosing the use of her arms and that has made putting on anything with sleeves very difficult and frustrating for her. I was thinking about closing the sleeves with lacing so she has more room but could be tied closed. I would love to hear what you guys think about how best to do that or if you have other ideas to help with that issue. Also, I find the traditional granny square a bit boring so I have avoided them in the past but would love to try some of the alternatives to the basic granny square. What are your favorite granny squares?
Here is the pattern she chose:
My mother-in-law showed me a granny square cardigan with a long fringe she saw on instagram. She was wanting the color to change from black to red, it doesn’t have to be a strict ombré but didn’t have any specifics it could be by each block, how blocks are arranged, the whole thing, etc. I would love yarn recommendations to achieve this as well. She has ALS, so one of her arms is difficult to put in a sleeve because she can’t move it at all, it just hangs at her side and the other arm will be the same soon. So, if anyone has recommendations to make it easier to put on, like lacing on the sleeve or any other ideas would be amazing. I was considering the popular hexagon cardigan but am not r
