Basically is there any way other than just shooting one frame at every stop and zooming in to see what actually leads to the sharpest image? I could theoretically just set up my DSLR and spend like an hour going through every stop on all of my lenses, or at least until I see detail start to soften, but is that really the only way to know? Also for zoom lenses does that ideal aperture change as I zoom and refocus?

Best photo ops in Online/IRL LA?

:DIS1::DIS2::DIS3::DIS4::DIS5:

I'm a semi pro photographer visiting LA next month and I'd like to replicate some shots in both GTAO and IRL, where do you think the best places are to? Most of my time in LA will be downtown but I'll be coming in from the desert so I'm open areas in the northern/sandy shores region. I'll probably have a fisheye, 50mm, and telephoto with me IRL If you have ideas for anywhere to take fun/funny photos in either I'd appreciate it.

Also mega props if anyone can point me to a consistent lead on classic/luxury cars in both LS and LA for free/cheap, we'll have a rental IRL and I have plenty of cars in online to use but irl cool cars are always better.

(Where do I get lunch)?

Nikon FG shutter speed lock

Troubleshooting - Gear

This feels like a silly question because I've checked the manual and it seems like the answer is simply "no" but it also feels like a bizarrely flawed design that I can't believe is working properly, but is there a way to lock the shutter speed on my Nikon FG so that I can't accidentally change it while handling the camera so easily? It seems to only lock in place requiring me to press the release buttons on the program and aperture priority modes, but spins almost freely outside of that and I constantly waste exposures accidentally spinning the dial when advancing it or just adjusting my grip. It does very lightly seem to ratchet in place at each speed, but with so little resistance that it

I scored a ticket to the signing tomorrow, don't know if Thomas will be willing to sign anything DP related but I figure I'll bring something just in case, if it doesn't work out I'll be happy just to meet him and get Mirage though.

Of the things I'm considering bringing it's down to: RAM 30th anniversary, my only hesitation is that this is the version of the album I actually listen to now and I fear that handling it to get the records out will wear out the cover and damage the signature over time, RAM first pressing, this is what I'm leaning toward as it's in great condition and unlike the 30th anniversary one I don't really listen to it much, thus making a better display piece, or Inters

Starting this season (at least when I noticed, possibly earlier) I've only been able to join open platform servers. I'm an ok player when everyone is limited to controllers but this is borderline unplayable, they're beaming me from distances that just can't be tracked by players of similar skill level and I don't really know how to play apart from just pushing and doing my best to support and play the objective. It's very frustrating since I bought the stupid $30 battle pass and now every game feels like a chore, on the bright side I've gotten better and the handful of PS5 only games have felt great, but it's disheartening joining a server and being conflicted between leaving the match to

Inescapable visions of brutal death

NSFWContent Warning: Suicidal Thoughts / Self Harm

Is it normal (it's not, I just don't know how else to phrase this) to an endlessly visual mind, and for the first thing that mind is drawn to to be crushing transformative (as in moving pieces) death? I can't shake hands with someone without imagining their skull being crushed in slow motion, I can't see a name on a movie poser without seeing their bisected skull, I can't look myself in the mirror without imagining my head in several pieces beneath a wheel. I hate it, I try to silence these sights within my mind and just get headaches, otherwise it's been once every ~30 minutes for the last 20 years. I don't want to hurt anyone, it's like my brain just started doing this without my consent.

Has anyone remade the sound that they hear on whip its? I've seen people say it got them into repetitive music but does everyone hear the same loop? If not mine is ass, sounds like random ascending half notes

I bought the physical release of Alan Wake 2 which comes with a download code for the first game, however I already own it on disc and from the later free PS+ release so I'm giving away the code. This game and its sequel are two of my favorite action horror games so I hope this can give someone else the same enjoyment I had when first experiencing the game.

To enter just comment your favorite piece of horror/adjacent media and I'll message the winner in a few hours with a photo of the code.
