A month ago I tore my labrum in my hip at work. I tried light duty for a few weeks which made it worse and now my dr has me out. The tear has caused other issues such as cysts forming and tendonitis and bursitis and bone marrow edema. I want to be at work and don’t want to be on wage replacement because the pay isn’t enough but the insurance company told me that I have to follow the restrictions.
The arthroscopic surgeon I saw said due to some mild osteoarthritis present he wouldn’t be able to just do an arthroscopic repair because I’d have less than a 50% chance of it helping at all (he said he wouldn’t even put the percentage that high if he had to bet on it) and probably for only a yea

NSAIDS, Lidocaine patches, Steroids…. Nothing is touching the pain, inflammation and weakness in my hip, instead now bursitis has entered the chat. New injury, workers compensation and I’m out of work due to pain, and was wondering if anyone ever said no to months of PT and just went ahead with surgery instead? I just want this to be over with so I can go back to work. I don’t want to waste months of time trying conservative methods that won’t actually treat the issue.
I had a doctors appointment today just for a physical, but it ended up changing into a different type of appointment and they are insisting I take FMLA for my mental health. I agree as I’m in a point that may not be survivable and my store doesn’t seem to grasp with that concept. With that said, I am terrified of taking it because they seem to hold me at this different standard than others and I’m afraid I will be retaliated against upon my return. Has this ever happened to anybody? I’m worried I’m gonna get back and they’ll cut my hours to nothing and treat me like shit.
I want to get my daughter a headset for a graduation gift. She is getting her PPL before going off to college for aviation with a hopeful future in commercial flight. I’m torn between these two headsets but also I’m unsure what connector to get. I’m unsure if any of them convert? I have no knowledge of flight. Any advice?
Requested a weekend off with one day of PTO used. It was pending but I cancelled the request because I have to change the date. They removed the PTO from my accrued amount (not approved yet, date still too far out for them to notice) and I’m hoping I didn’t lose those hours as they weren’t returned to my accrued amount.
How do you handle an overuse injury versus an accident? I have developed trigger finger and tendonitis (and a bruised knuckle bone but that should heal fine the dr said, lol). I went to a hand specialist and he said I had two options, cortisone shot or surgery. I opted for the cortisone in hopes that gets rid of it but if it doesn’t, surgery will be the next step. I haven’t involved HR at all in this because I wasn’t sure how as it wasn’t an accidental acute injury but one caused by overuse. Not sure how to approach this in case surgery is required. I’m in inbound so losing use of a hand temporarily would be detrimental.
