Hi!

I’m about 6 weeks post op and while I can tolerate cold mixed coffees (like Starbucks oat espresso stuff) I need a replacement for my warm morning coffee. Luckily I don’t get the worst 💩 side effects too much fat or acid and I get little phantom pains or tummy cramps. I’d rather just not lol. What are your fav alternatives that have the same.. coziness? Savory? As coffee with a little cream?

I don’t know. Recent surgery has absolutely blown up my previously under control ED. And I’m just not as kind as I always wanted to be. I try to. And can for a certain amount of time with a certain amount of of distance but once it’s too consistent or intimate I have to battle insecurity, shortness, and assuming bad intentions. Also spiraling about having a baby by 35 and feeling like I should’ve made myself “better” by now before doing so.

Trying to just try again each day.

I’m tired.

We need an existential dread flair.

This post is for anyone post op day 7-20 starting to panic because you aren’t walking 2 miles a day and eating pizza. Ie me

It took me YEARS to decide to take my GB out after a hida showed 23% EF in 2015 and then later 18% in 2019 (no idea on my final EF). I’ve always been health conscious so controlling it with diet seemed easy enough and my attacks were never as bad as some people describe, but I was always paranoid about the day it finally caused a major attack or developed a stone.

Fyi Dr Meredith Gray (OB) and Dr. Freund (generally surgeon) in KC are the BEST. I Once we decided we wanted kids I was told it’s be insane to get pregnant prior to doing getting it out. I had 3 surgeo

Hello-

I’ve been pretty active here lately trying to stay sane. Currently dealing with those super fun post op shoulder pains and weird gurgles under my sternum.

But most concerning is that I’m dropping weight fast in just the 1 week and 3 days since my operation. I try to eat but a) not hungry, and b) scared to make pain worse. Any tips or meals that helped you? I know I need to be fed to be healthy. Currently I eat a lot of Happy Baby fruit and oat packs, bits of grilled chicken, and oatmeal. Oh and ensure

Hey- another post op freaking out about SOD. On July 5 I had a double procedure to remove my GB and find/excise endometriosis. So.. 8/9 days ago.

Honestly it’s like the endo one never happened now. But the Gb… that’s been different. I had put this surgery off for years. In 2016 I had a test that showed 29% EF (no stones or sludge, just a stitches in my side feeling) and then in 2019 it was 17 or 18%. The symptoms were mild but constant and I just didn’t want to risk the possible complications. But eventually with this other surgery it seemed easier to do both and if I want to get pregnant they said I’d really need it out first. And everyone says GB is no biggie (LIES)

Day 1-4 had normal b

I got my lap Friday along with gallbladder removal. Recovery hasn’t been fun… or even tolerable if I’m being honest. But the vindication!!!

Included is a pic of my little friend as well as some bonus bladder lesions I have to follow up on. To the first obgyn in 2020 who told me I was only noticing my cramps “because I was working less and had more free time”- FUCK YOU. And God freaking Bless Dr. Gray at KU Med.

142 lbs, recent weight loss

Hashimotos

Getting gallbladder removed and LAP for endo this Friday (so ofc this happens now)

Non smoker non drinker

Very active

Sunday night it suddenly felt like the muscle behind my ear was tightening and I was both being stung and stabbed. Similar to if you pull a section of hair hard. That feeling has stayed sort of like a throbbing and there’s this little swollen area that look way smaller and calmer than it feels. Extremely sore to the touch. Even my pillow hurts. The problem is I’m having surgery Friday and don’t know if I should just ignore this, go to my pcp, or tell my drs the day of the surgery?

No fever, no ear ache. A little bit of a ja

My OB (MIGS trained) and a gen surgeon are going to remove my gallbladder and do an exploratory lap, bladder scope, and tube flush in a week and a half. In the last three months I’ve gotten into the best mental and physical shape of my life and all the stories here make me think I’m about to throw that out the window possibly forever. It’s stupid but Pilates and weightlifting are my Prozac. I have horrible anxiety and body dysmorphia but feeling strong has been the best medicine. Please those of you that got back to pre op levels tell me about it bc most things I see here are horror stories and I’m in tears about to cancel this whole thing. Especially if it might not even help

I’m .. well.. actually I don’t know if it’s right to call myself straight but that’s probably not important right now because the person I may have offended thinks I am. I’m so afraid I offended a new friend from the lgbtq community bc I was too stupid to google something before mentioning it and I’m looking for help on how to apologize without putting the weight on them to make ME feel better. Is this the right place for that? Is there a better sub? I don’t want to accidentally hurt anyone here by sharing the convo.

Ok. I should’ve googled first. I’m getting to know a new friend who is currently dating a male family member but previously only farted same sex and aligns as gay. There’s a million more interesting things about her but this matters for the issue at hand. I’m trying so hard to get to know her and make her feel safe around me and we mostly chat on insta DM. We were discussing music and emo stages and I brought up Hollywood undead because in 2006 I was SUPER into Black Dahlia. I didn’t necessarily listen to the other songs that deeply. Apparently they said the F word… a lot. I’m mortified.

I responded “oh really!? You may have known more of their songs, I definitely wouldn’t have asked that
