Looking to add smart switches to the bathroom my kids can NEVER shut a light off in. Would like one of the switches to also possibly act as a mmWave presence sensor & if possible a zigbee router (which I believe requires a neutral wire).
Am I crazy? Is this a feature set that exists? Can it not be insanely expensive? The ONLY one I've seen is an Innovelli blue for $100!!!!!!! Where's the tuya knockoff that gets the same job done?! I've tried looking and either I'm missing it or outside of Innovelli it doesn't exist.

Trying to plan a parametric wooden network rack with Fusion 360. I need to create some diagonal crossbeams (top left to bottom right) that would stretch to fit as parameters change. My thought was have the center-ish of the cross beam meet the center of that top-left inside angle, and the top of the crossbeam meet the top of the bottom back beam.

How can I create a constrained beam like that? Would be a 1.5"x1.5" (2x2 furring strip)

I've got a question that's so cross-topic I'm not sure where to post this!

My parents are going to be away for a bit and wanted something to monitor for leaks in their basement. They originally asked me about a camera...which seems crazy as unless they're staring at it they're not going to see it for hours....

My suggestion was a leak detector. I have some tied to my HA setup at home. The downside is they have ZERO smart home setup right now outside of a doorbell cam. I thought about either the govee or aqara hub+sensor setups, then I thought...
"I have a spare zigbee/network hub (Tuya, previously flashed tasmota) I was using with Z2M before I switched to my new SLZB-MR3...could I pu

All the discord links (here, on your site, etc) are all dead. Can you send updated links? I've been running Proxmox for a few months now and am looking to add a 2nd node, but my spare node's going to be a bit of an oddity. (see here: https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab/comments/1rluotl/comment/o8uzjbu/) Wanted to see if I could pick at anyone's brains online to make sure I set things up right. I used the community scripts when building my first node and I'm not sure if I've disabled features I need for running as a cluster and not sure how to check....

Ok, so...I'll start by saying I know this is somewhat insane, but I have my reasons - see after tl;dr.

tl;dr: Have standalone proxmox already, want to cluster, other available hardware already running unRAID - would prefer to keep unRAID on hardware and run a proxmox VM 'node B'. Have questions under "If Possible" below.

I have a Lenovo mini pc running proxmox that I run as my firewall + other essential network services (DNS, reverse proxy, etc.) The last time I had to take this down for hardware maintenance it was a real problem. I want to try and set up another proxmox system to cluster so I can fail services over temporarily as needed. Right now the only other system I can work with

Good deals or sketchy?

Question/Advice

Looking on FB Marketplace, one guy has 3 different hard drive dumps.

1: ($75/drive)

14TB Seagate Exos X16 Hard Drive. I have 6 drives available. 5 drives have >a warranty that ends in December 2026. One drive is an OEM with no >warranty.

2: ($110/drive)

14 TB Western Digital DC HC530 hard drives. All the drives were converted >from 512e to 4k. I have 24 drives available. The price is per drive.

3: ($40/drive)

8tb Seagate SATA Hard Drives. $40 each and I have 21 available. Model ST80000DM004.

I'm not a computer hardware guy. I don't have the smart info. The drives have 2-4 full writes and 3-4 years of use inside a jbod enclosure.

I'm wondering if these are a good deal? I'm ki

Hopefully I'm in the right place. I've been trying to run RGB strips on my house for the last 3 years. tl;dr - need help figuring out a DIY that won't die on me every year!

Got through Christmas year one, then sometime over the summer the setup quit working. Found a dead #1 LED in strip 1...one output on my controller was burned out and the PSU died. Spliced in new LED, replaced PSU, got a new/different controller, added a sonoff in front of the psu to ensure it wasn't getting power when it didn't need to be on all summer. Moved on.

Got through Christmas #2, then some time over the next summer burned out another PSU, and my 2nd strip was showing a short. Controller still tested good o

I'm a big guy (320, 6'2"). I used to LOVE my leather jacket I got back in High School. Genuine lambskin XXLT at the time. Croft & Borrow. This thing survived high school, college, and beyond. Even as I grew to my current 3XLT, this thing grew with me. I can still wear it, but it's short and REALLY aged. Rips in the lining and pockets and small scuffs/tears in the leather, but overall it's still in fairly decent shape for being decades old.

I've owned now 3 other leather coats. The first 2 of which had the THINNEST leather imaginable. Both got caught on something and easily ripped large holes in the outer leather. The 3rd I just got. KingSize Bomber "Genuine Leather" - seems to be

My home's existing wired doorbell system has 2 buttons. Front door plays two notes, back door plays one. I previously had another doorbell camera on the front that had some small box I had to place on my chime to make it work and it used the doorbell's original chime instead of a plug-in wireless one. The rear button continued to work with this doorbell just fine.

After installing the Reolink as directed (shorting the top two contacts in my bell with provided wire) my rear doorbell button no longer works. Please keep in mind that the install instructions only show how to wire two CAMERA doorbells, not a camera and a button. I have no need for a camera on the back door at this time. Di

For some reason all the sudden on both my kids' accounts on my Quest 3s - if I open any game (beat saber, gorilla tag, etc.) the headset will play audio from the game, but the vision goes to passthrough mode only. I can see the outside world, but not the game. Hitting the meta button will pop up the menus, and all that works as expected, but apps/games won't show anything. If I load into MY account...(Primary/adult) everything works fine.
