Just remembered that this is the 30th anniversary of Pokémon. It is easy to forget with how little they have done to recognize or celebrate it. It feels nothing like the 20th anniversary imo. And bereft of a proper celebration, they are instead choosing now to close down Bank.

Obviously I doubt Bank would last forever, but it just feeps so bad to end it now of all times with only a few months until the shutdown date.

I just bought the season 1 DVD and LOVED IT, I would 100% buy a physical edition of season 2. But I have been unable to find anything online. I will buy a digital download if I must, but I would so much rather have a physical edition. Is there any news on this front? I would snap up Season 2 this INSTANT if I could, this show is amazing.

We all know the meme, someone posts "Is this a good team?" and it is the same team we've seen a hundred times before. While people claim Johto has limited options for Pokémon, there are actually many Pokémon available pre-E4 (including every Johto Pokémon save for Porygon2, Sneasel, Houndour, and Houndoom). It is my belief that people use the same Pokémon so often because those are the Pokémon they play Johto games for.

So what is the most EXCESSIVELY standard Johto team? For my money: Typhlosion, Ampharos, Heracross/Scizor, Espeon, Red Gyarados, Dragon's Den Dragonite. I'll be totally honest and say my own team was Typhlosion, Scizor, Espeon, Lapras, Tyranitar, and Dragonite lol.

HGSS are my favorite games in the franchise. I think they're peak, 10/10, terrific games. Usually when I see people "fixing" the Johto games, I feel like their criticisms have missed the point of the titles. For example, many changes I see people suggest are directed at streamlining the experience of running through Johto by putting Pokemon in more obvious locations and the like. But what I love about playing these games is exploring! So, I thought I'd ask a sub of other HGSS fans what kind of changes they'd have made to our beloved games. I've got a few:

Higher-leveled wild Pokemon after Mahogany Town - This is the big Johto criticism that I can't fight with. It feels really anticlimac

Ishamael is described as being only "partially sealed" within Shayol Ghul with the rest of the Forsaken. He was spun out for 40 year periods a few times over the thousands of years between the Age of Legends and the events of the story. He also was conspicuously not sealed during the prologue of Eye of the World, right after Lews Therin had placed the seals and gone mad! How do you think this occurred?

My best theory is that placing the seals was both metaphysical and physical. While the Forsaken were deep within the Pit of Doom, Lews Therin began sealing the Dark One's prison with saidin. I suspect the Forsaken became aware of the conflict and attempted to escape, only to be caught wit

Something I find really interesting about classic Pokemon is that Game Freak hid very interesting encounters in different areas of the world. I think one of the most famous is the level 100 Magikarp in the resort in Platinum, an extremely rare encounter. There is a similar Magikarp in HGSS, though it is much easier to get. Surfing on the pond on Route 43 can give you a level 50 Magikarp encounter, which is very cool!

So, I was wondering, are there any other unique encounters I could chase down? I love the unique aspect of having a Pokemon with a strange catch location (Like how in FRLG you can obtain a few Pokemon with the "S.S. Anne" catch location) or level met (Like my level 50 Magikarp!

Pretty straightforward, looking for action-oriented fantasy where despite an abundance of responsible adults that could (theoretically) step up, for some reason everything falls to a bunch of teenagers instead. I'd like something more in the vein of "our world" but with an unknown supernatural angle (like some kind of secret magical underworld or threat) as opposed to an outright magical setting. I'd like a female protagonist as well, but it's not required. And I'd REALLY like newer stuff. I feel like I never read anything new and I'm trying to change that.

I've really been on a kick with this sort of thing lately, so I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

I was very excited to find a great-condition hardcover Crossroads of Twilight at a used bookstore recently. I am trying to assemble a complete WoT hardcover set with the original, cheesy fantasy-style covers, so finding one for cheap was a GREAT discovery. But when I got home and put it on my shelf, I noticed that it was MUCH smaller than my other hardcover copies.

Obviously, this must be a different edition, despite the identical cover. But I was wondering if anyone could shed some more light on these editions of the books, to help me on my quest going forward. I would hate to order online and find myself with another mismatched book.

I'd love to read a book that feels like it was strongly influenced by Magical Girl anime. Or, if not exactly that, I'd love a fantasy story centered on a girl (or group of girls) involved with the supernatural but also the humdrum of everyday life at high school or something similar (college, a day-job, etc.). Some other guidelines:

-I'd love a book about female friendships! Girls supporting girls!

-The "age-rating" of the book does not concern me; children's novel, YA, "adult," I don't care. And when I say children's novel, I'm thinking of something like Artemis Fowl or Harry Potter, a proper novel but aimed at children. Of course, I might be willing to binge a series of small kids' books

Hey all, the title says everything! I've really enjoyed using TTT in decks; its toolbox-esque effect makes deckbuilding really fun, and I love cards that are good going first AND second in a Bo1 format like Master Duel. I originally crafted this card to search Grass in 60-card piles, but now that I'm playing it in other decks I am kind of overwhelmed with all my options. I've been using it to grab Talents and boardbreakers like Raigeki/Duster, but I'd love some more options. I'm especially interested in good Trap targets I can set going first. Right now I either grab archetypal traps or an Imperm lol.

What do you guys think?

You can define "worst" however you want. Tedious, boring, misplays, anything! The inspiration for this post came from watching a Voiceless Voice replay. There were tons of misplays on the VV player’s turn, as they basically bungled almost every step of the combo, but then even after they got to the Skull Guardian negate they THREW IT ALL AWAY! I think they went for the Dyna Mondo line (really wish I made this post a few days ago), but I said to myself "They are BEGGING to get Nib'd here." Sure enough, they were Nibbed. Then on the follow up turn, instead of trying to combo again they just tribute summoned Saffira. I think they still won since their opponent didn't draw any monsters! Just an

I believe the title says it all, but I will repeat myself to be clear. I would love to purchase physical versions of the original LWA films. As much as I love the series, I absolutely adored both films and very much enjoyed the dub. I would love to have my hands on any physical release I could get. I'm not opposed to buying Japanese discs if the English dub is on them, and while I would prefer a Blu-Ray/DVD combo I will buy either format if that's what it takes. I have tried to google this many times, and found nothing but the Japanese releases. If there is no English physical release, that will be devastating to me but perhaps something I must accept. I greatly appreciate any help you lovel
