I don't understand why they're mad about it.

I'm on amitriptyline for Ménière's disease, but it keeps giving me nightmares of being suffocated and I keep losing track of time when I'm awake. Consistently. I am usually missing several days, thinking it's Tuesday when it's Thursday or Friday. My doctor didn't mention any side effects, and I'm wondering if I should stop taking it? I don't have depression, but it just so happens to treat my condition as well, and it does a great job at that.
