I'm in Korea right now and will go to Japan next week. I'm planning to buy quite a bit and wanted to get people's opinion on which country is generally better and/or cheaper for which item type:

- Skincare

- Pharmacy skincare

- Make up

- SPF

- Hair salon c-perm and haircut

- Clothes

- Shoes

I've never been to Korea or Japan. I'd like to build a reliable base and try some new things, but I'm not well versed in Asian beauty yet.

(Also, might get a lil botox between my eyebrows in Seoul, if anyone can recommend a clinic?)

I'm currently applying to jobs and a fair few in my field are around Bath, Oxford and Cambridge. While I'm looking for a new job to advance my career, and so the job itself is important, I'm also looking at improving my personal life. Where I currently live is great for children and retirees, but the main activity for people between these ages is pub or to travel an hour away to more fun places.

I'm 29, work standard office hours, drive and don't drink. I would like to live somewhere with a variety of social activities that take place in the evenings and on weekends; hobby clubs, games nights, classes, ice skating, beginner sports, a climbing gym?

I'm not very familiar with Bath, Oxford

Trigger warning: description of illness

Hey all, just wondering if anyone has had anything similar and can point out the issue. I lived in London for a year a while back and was fine. I no longer live in London.

I've visited a friend in Fulham 3 times now, and 2 of those times have led to me having a splitting headache, vomiting, minor diarrhoea, shaking, fevers, ending up on the floor not able to stand without collapsing etc, but then 95% recovered by the next morning. I've never had that horrible combination outside of these 2 times.

The first time they cooked, and since they were fine they reckoned I must have food poisoning from before I came ove

I work for a company that has been allowing us to take Share Options instead of a cash bonus for a few years now. In every year before they would tell us:

  1. Strike price
  2. A conversation price between the cash and the number of options (like £1000 cash bonus could instead be 20 share options if the conversation is £50/share)

This year they've told each of us what our cash bonus comes out to, and asked if we want the cash or options... but they've not given us any info about how many option shares that may be or what we'd be charged to exercise them. They don't actually have this information yet for this year, and may not for a number of months.

Ideally I'd like to hold off on making a d

Hey all, confused tourist here

I saw SF now has tap to pay on public transport and the articles I've read about it say it charges you until you reach the daily cap (https://www.sf.gov/news-mayor-lurie-launches-tap-to-pay-across-muni-system-making-it-more-convenient-than-ever-to-use-public-transit "Fare capping, allowing riders to pay as they go until reaching a daily or monthly limit")

However yesterday I was charged 3x $2.85, which is more than the $5.70 cap? What's going on? Do I have the register my card somewhere or something?

On Tuesday night I'm going to Glasgow for a week and will be hiring a car. The hire car company requires a physical credit card for the deposit.

I have a Virgin Money CC but misplaced it while moving, so they're sending a replacement in 7-10 days. That's not quick enough.

Is there any way to get a credit card issued in my name, physically in my hand, by Tuesday afternoon?

I'm in England and did not see this mentioned in the UKPersonalFinance Wiki or Flowchart

Hi all, I'm looking at moving to Dresden for a PhD. I'd get approx €20k annual take home and the contract prohibits me from taking any part time work, so my budget would be limited to just that.
Is this reasonable enough in Dresden?

I'd like at least a studio flat (furnished), and they've made it unclear whether I'd count as a student, so student accommodation is out. I'm single, no kids and don't have particularly expensive taste, but I'd like to be able to afford better food than when I was a student 😅

I'm coming from the UK so used to a high CoL, but I'm in industry at the moment so I can afford it. The big salary drop is worrying me but I might be worrying more than is warrant

S10+ refresh

Question

I'm about to buy a new battery for my S10+ on Replace Base, anything else I should get while I'm here? What's most likely to go, other than the battery?

Hi, I am looking at buying a flat in an Ltd Co and renting it out. I’ll then be moving to Germany for 3 years to study. I’d like to talk to someone in finance to talk this through, but finance is a huge field and I don’t know who to speak to. Someone was recommended to me but said he cannot give advice as I’d be abroad. What specific terms do I need to find someone appropriate to speak to?

Part 2: I’d like to go into this meeting with appropriate questions and background information. My current understanding with (approximate values) is as follows:

On Purchase:

Property price £200,000

Deposit £50,000

Stamp Duty £11,500

Renovation £10,000

Solicitor+Survey £2,500

**Purchase Total £2
