90% cracked shitty roads/10% gravel
In addition to everyday riding: a couple centuries, a couple duathlons, and a couple multi day bike packing trips every year.
What do you think? Any other suggestions?

I'm looking for a durable, economical road bike to just churn miles on for the next 5 years. A no frills, but capable, Camry of a bike.
$2500 price limit
150 miles per week, virtually all on cracked country roads with a fair amount of vibration.
A couple centuries a year just for fun, and a couple duathlons where I need some speed.
Currently riding a 2017(?) ALR Domane, for reference.
I'm currently planning out how I'm going to build my "forever bike" and it looks like an ALR Emonda frame may be a nice option. However, as I dig into this sub, I've seen a ton of people say that the Emonda is tremendously uncomfortable, to the point where they've traded it back in. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this, and whether or not it may be too uncomfortable for me as well.
For reference I'm a just a club rider who averages about 150 miles per week, and does a couple centuries every year for fun, and a couple competitive duathlons. Been riding an ALR domane for the last couple years and it's great, but thought maybe something more racy could be cool.
I own a 2010 LP Special and while the bridge position is awesome for rock, the neck position is essentially unusable. It's boomy, overly loud, and inarticulate. Until now I've just sort of accepted this as a limitation of the guitar, but I thought why not get some opinions from reddits foremost Gibson experts on possible fixes. I've tried lowering the pickup quite a bit, and it didn't really help much. Also, if I run it on very low volume (like 2) it clears up a little, but obviously this isn't the best solution. Maybe a pickup change is in order? Or maybe this is just a characteristic of the guitar and there's no helping it?
Basically, what I'm looking for is a set of pickups that sound glassy and cold. Think of like 90s style strat pickups. I do not care about warmth, twang, or vintage-yness.
Details: 32 years old, former CTR2 who separated in 2013. Honorable discharge. Just trying to do an informal check on whether or not I would even be someone the navy reserve would be interested in before scheduling an appointment with a recruiter. I'm aware that my lengthy time away probably makes me a less desirable candidate. Also, I would like to keep my CTR rate if possible.
Anyway, if anyone has any input on that I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Hey all, I'm currently trying to simplify my rig and am trying to find one amp that will suit all my needs. I typically play crunchy garage rock/blues punk sorta stuff and a cranked AC15 seems like it would suit that style perfectly. The catch though is that I also occasionally sit in on more subdued jazz and blues jams and am a little concerned that the amp would possibly not have the headroom necessary to suit both of those needs. Any experience/advice? Thanks.
With the Osprey warranty, what are the chances that they fix issues with the pack vs just replacing it? I've got an Exos 48 from probably 2016ish that suits my needs perfectly and has performed admirably through 3 thru hikes and thousands of miles. Because of this, it is understandably beat to hell.
In a perfect world I would like for them to fix the pack, rather than replace it with a new one (I feel like I only ever hear people complain about newer ospreys), but don't know how this process actually works.
Is there a place to download old radio broadcasts? I'm out in nature for the next few months, and only have service sparingly, so I would like to download the games I miss so that I can keep up with the team. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hey everyone. I'm in the market for a new acoustic, and have a set of criteria for it thats making it tough to Google. Not really that big of a gear guy, so if you guys could point me in the right direction that would be great. My criteria:
A dreadnought with as little ornamentation as possible. Really looking for an "no show, all go" type of guitar. Not married to any specific woods, although I've typically played all mahogany in the past. Does not need to be cheap, I'm looking for a guitar that sounds good, not good "for the money". No electronics. Not a "Far East" import. No Taylors. No Martins. Thanks in advance.
Budget 1500-2000$
2010 Sport. Alarm is going off seemingly at random every couple minutes. May be related to melting snow/ice? I've also noticed lately that if I press the lock button twice, it no longer beeps to acknowledge it. Any help or advice as to the cause would be appreciated. Thanks.
If I were to name my rock band "The National Football League", and release music unrelated to the sport of football while taking care to steer clear of any imagery associated with the NFL, would they have the right to cease and desist me? And if they did, would I have a case to fight against it?
