In Andor, Cassian distrusts "Force healers" because Maarva was once taken advantage of by a charlatan. Are there any other examples of people faking Force-sensitivity for gain? And did they ever get Inquisitors sent after them?

I know some of their lightsabers show evidence of personalization, but the fact that every one is built with the same spinning mechanism makes me wonder if they're being stamped out by a factory somewhere and modified after the fact, with only the kyber crystal being a personal selection (if even that).

Been replaying Chapter 1 again, and the fact that everything from King onward has to be completed from a single save has always annoyed me. Wandering around Hometown takes a long time, and if I get interrupted and have to quit, I have to rush through the King fight and all the cutscenes just to pick up where I left off. Are there any save state editors out there that'll let me save my place directly in Hometown?

I've been rereading The Lord of the Rings for the first time in possibly a decade, following Shelved by Genre, so I'm currently halfway through Fellowship. They're doing their best to do a naive reading, which got the title question into my head.

From where I am in Fellowship, here's some things we know about Sauron so far:

  • Rules the realm of Mordor, reigns over orcs, trolls, wargs, and several kingdoms of Men
  • Immortal on the scale of elves, has been present almost since the beginning of the world
  • Came from "Outside" and turned darkness into something to fear
  • Used to be merely a servant of a greater evil, but wasn't always evil himself
  • Sometimes known as the "Necromancer", has po

Did a quick search and it seems like most people are asking why the Imperium doesn't industrialize feral/feudal worlds. But are there any examples of low-tech worlds developing into higher-tech worlds on their own initiative? I know there are plenty of factors that can prevent a planet from advancing technologically, but with a million worlds and several thousand years of the Imperium's laissez-faire approach to planetary governance there surely must be a few. I especially wonder at what point the Mechanicus would get involved (is developing the internal combustion engine from first principles an example of forbidden innovation or divine inspiration?)

I was thinking about the franchise's relationship with superweapons, from the Bantam Spectra era's arms race to stuff like the Malevolence and its ion cannons, and it made me wonder: how many such weapons do we know of that ended up complete failures? Obviously a completed and functioning superweapon is going to cause a stir, but how many never got off the ground?

And I don't mean "fully functional but got blown up due to a design flaw" or "rebels broke into the factory and destroyed the prototypes", I mean weapons that were unfeasible from the start or just completely failed to deliver on their stated purpose.

So Hallow's group is definitely going to be in deep trouble and Jachi's going to blow away whoever's threatening them. But what happens after that? Jachi's interested because Hallow survived the chaos, but that's only because of luck and the plan of getting Natural Enemies to fight each other. He isn't at the point where he can pose a threat to a Demon King.
