My mother ruined my birth/postpartum experience

[Supportive Responses Only, Advice OK]

I recently had my fifth baby. Throughout my pregnancy and postpartum period, I’ve been struggling with my relationship with my adoptive mother and I’m questioning whether my expectations are unreasonable.

I have five children, my oldest two have autism who require extra patience, understanding, and support. My parents rarely ask to see them, rarely check in on them, and didn’t come over for Easter or even ask to see them. Growing up, I always spent holidays with my grandparents and there was a strong emphasis on family, so it’s hard for me to understand.

My mother frequently undermines me as a parent. If I give instructions, she often does things her own way. She also tells stories about

Postpartum Recovery

I’m 4 days postpartum with my fifth baby, after four girls, we finally got our boy. We said we were done after having four girls, but God surprised us last September with a baby boy. I was high risk all through out my pregnancy and ended up being induced this last Wednesday at 39 weeks/2 days.

I’m feeling an overwhelming sense of sadness knowing this is probably my last baby.. I’m so sad to know that maybe this chapter is over for good and I’ll never carry another baby, but also not wanting him to grow up so fast and seeing my other babies growing up so fast as well and wishing time would slow down.

Please tell me I’m not alone in this feeling 😔

I’m 38/5 and had gestational diabetes but my sugars are insulin controlled. This is my fifth pregnancy and I have been induced with my first two, and I really don’t want to be induced again. They were concerned he was small at my anatomy scan and now they’re worried his belly is big because he’s estimated to weigh 7lbs and 9oz and they’re worried his shoulders will get big.

I’m trying to induce labor naturally but I have an induction scheduled for next Wednesday.

I (33F) have a five year old daughter who is level 3 autistic. We have had issues with my mom not understanding or completely being disrespectful, undermining me as a mother and just doing what she wants. We’ve expressed our concerns, and she takes everything as an attack and doesn’t communicate. Instead she storms off and throws her own tantrum. She’s not a very supportive, warm-hearted person but that’s another story for another day.

We’ve noticed some odd behavior in the past with our five year old, she seems to act up when she’s around. Well yesterday (mothers day) my mom was doing flips with her because she seems to think she likes it, well my daughter got overstimulated and head butt

I need help. I feel like such a failure as a parent. My oldest is (5) and my second oldest will be (4) next month. They have been on waitlists forever for OT and feeding therapy, I’m just not sure where to even begin on breaking them from a bottle and moving onto a straw cup and how do I even approach potty training with two children who are non-verbal, level 3 autistic and don’t follow commands. 🥺😭

My fiancé and I have been together for 6 years. He was adopted by a guy his birth mom had dated and he was obsessed with her.

His birth mom signed off all rights because she claimed to be unfit as a mother when he was six or seven years old, she allegedly abused him according to what his dad said. So he was married at the time and adopted him. Shortly after he got divorced and was forced to move back in with his parents, so my fiance now has his adopted dad and adopted grandparents.

His adopted dad had been in trouble with the law multiple times, ended up losing his license, he doesn’t have control of his own money, he is considered a felon for theft and can’t work at an actual job, so h

I have two weeks left of my pre-nursing in psychology and I’m not doing too hot on my exams, so I was wondering if it’s my studying method?

I’m a hands on learner. But this class is online. So I’m looking for some other study methods.

I have tried active recall on my white board, I’ve tried uploading PowerPoints to notebook lm, Quizlet, Claude.

I’m in my pre-nursing courses, I studied so hard and thought I found a good study method that worked for me after revamping it after failing my first exam. Sure enough, I went to take the exam and had questions that were not what I studied or in my lectures. I literally got a 56% out of 100%. And it dropped my grade to a 68% I have three more weeks of this class and I can only pray that I do well enough to bring it up to at least a C. Please give me word of encouragement 😭

I started pre-nursing classes on Monday, as a mom to four (two on the spectrum), I was a CNA for 10 years prior to becoming a mom and staying home, so now it’s finally my turn to start something I’ve waited years and for the right time to do.

Give me some of your favorite tips, study recommendations, and any words of advice!

I’ve been a CNA for 10 years and I’ve been away from bedside for four years and I’ve been a stay at home mom since. I thought I wanted to do nursing, but my fiancé is a nurse and he ended up leaving not only bedside but nursing all together because it’s all just a shit show.

I have considered RT and Surgical Tech instead. I’m just curious, how many RT’s are there on each shift? Is it just usually one RT that is assigned to all the floors or do you usually stay in a designated area like the ICU, NICU or ED?
