Hey, I had a call from my midwife earlier to let me know that my iron has dropped lower, despite starting iron tablets and also my b12 is very low. She said the recommended level was around 196 and mine was 101 ng/l. I have been feeling extremely tired and been having frequent headaches but I’d put this down to normal pregnancy symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this and was your baby okay? I can’t stop worrying that the baby has been harmed in some way. I’m waiting for a call from the hospital to arrange injections but I’m just overthinking everything. I don’t know what could have caused the deficiency as I eat a regular diet.

Hi, I’m expecting my second baby in October, when my first child will have just turned 2. My toddler is a good walker but also doesn’t really like walking longer distances. He will ask to be picked up and he weighs over 15kg so I can’t really carry him comfortably. We live in London and don’t drive so we use the buggy quite a lot so it’s important for us to have a reliable one for both children! I’m leaning towards the Cossato wow xl at the moment as I prefer tandem strollers over side by side and I just love the design but I’m looking for recommendations from parents with similar age gaps before I make a decision as it is very expensive for us!
Hey,
I’m pregnant with my second child who is due in October, when my son will have just turned 2. I would like to make the most of my maternity leave this time, as I honestly didn’t leave the house much or go to many groups with my first and I kind of regret it. I am taking the whole year off hopefully so will have plenty of time but I realised I’m not actually sure if there are any groups or classes that are suitable for a baby and a toddler? What have others with a similar age gap done? I imagine my toddler would get very bored and disruptive in a baby sensory class etc.
Thanks in advance!
Hey, I am probably overthinking but I took my toddler to the dentist for the first time today and the dentist just looked at his teeth and counted them and said everything looked great. He had no concerns but he asked us to book our next visit in 3-4 months time which I thought was very soon? I thought every 6 months was standard for children. I asked again if he had any concerns and he said no, he just wants to keep an eye on how he’s doing. Is this odd? I’m worried he’s seen red flags or signs of decay or something but doesn’t want to alarm me? I brush my son’s teeth twice daily and try to avoid excessive sugar but I’m wondering if I’m overthinking this or is it normal for children this a
Hey, I had my 20 week scan this afternoon and we were told the baby’s nasal bone measured 4.5mm where it should be at least 5mm. This is apparently a soft marker for chromosomal abnormalities and we have been referred to a consultant for further scans and testing. My partner and I are both of African descent (I am mixed, he is black) which he did say would most likely be the reason as black people typically have shorter nasal bones but I’m just so worried about this, especially as my son never had this. I would love to hear anyone else’s experiences with this and what the outcome was for you? We had the screening earlier in my pregnancy which came back as low risk but I’m terrified
Hi all,
On 29th January 2025, I put in a SAR to the local authority that was responsible for me during my time spent in care as a child. I followed up on 4th March, as I hadn’t heard anything and received a response on the 6th, acknowledging my request and citing an increase in SARs as the reason for the delay. I then followed up again in July, September and December of the same year and received the same excuse each time that they were waiting for a social worker to sign off. This is obviously a ridiculous time frame as it has now been over a year since I made the request and I’m genuinely suspicious that they are intentionally trying to prevent me from accessing my records. What do I do
Hi all, I just wanted to give an update for anyone that has been following my previous posts or will be in a similar situation in future and come across my posts. I had a scan today at 6+4 according to LMP or 6+1 going from the day I think I ovulated. I have been a nervous wreck all week and I honestly prepared myself for the worst but I was pleasantly surprised! It was a transvaginal ultrasound and we were able to see the gestational sac, yolk sac and tiny fetal pole! We even saw the heart flickering and were able to hear it❤️. I was prescribed progesterone suppositories as a precaution but I am definitely hopeful! Thanks again for all the great advice and support on my previous posts, you
Hi all, I posted recently after an ultrasound showed only a gestational sac around 5 weeks. Thank you to everyone that commented it was really great to have so much support and reassurance ❤️. My HCG on the day of my scan on Wednesday was 2240, and it had risen to 4765 48 hours later which I was happy with. However, the nurse raised concerns about my progesterone levels. It was 35 nmol/l (11 ng/l) on Wednesday then it had dropped to 28 nmol/l (8.8 ng/l). From my understanding, these levels are very low for the first trimester and may point to early miscarriage. I have had no bleeding at all but I do want to guard my heart and prepare myself if this is really likely. I have a scan booked for
I am around 5 weeks pregnant, my LMP was 3rd January, I estimate that I ovulated on the 20th and my cycles are normally around 30 days long. I had a scan at the EPU today and they couldn’t see anything really, just the gestational sac but couldn’t see the baby. The nurse I spoke to said this was concerning and she would expect to see more at this point so I will have another scan in a week or two. They did a blood test and my HCG came back as 2240, and I am having repeat bloods on Friday. Does this sound like it’s likely ectopic or heading for miscarriage? I am devastated and can’t stop crying. My last pregnancy was perfectly healthy and had no complications at all, although I didn’t have my
My son will be 13 months this week and has been walking since he was 11 months but it did take a while for him to gain his balance and stop falling over every few steps. Now he walks and runs everywhere and hates being in the buggy for more than 30 mins tops, if we are stationary for longer than a few mins he will start complaining and try to climb out. I want to know when people started to go out with their toddlers without the pushchair, as I had some drama with mine recently where the strap broke while we were out and I just could not control my son! As soon as he is put down he runs off and I was constantly running after him, as well as trying to carry all of our stuff. I tried holding
My baby turned 1 at the end of September and he can say ‘mama’, ‘dada’ and ‘no’. I’ve been trying to teach him to say ‘milk’ and ‘hello’, but not had much success yet. Should he be able to say more at this stage? I thought he was doing great but someone told me that their child could say 20+ words at this stage so now I’m wondering if my baby is behind. How many words could your baby say at 12 months?
