Is it worth it? How much are you paying for electricity during winter vs on summer?

We are quoted 11k by 1stsolar for 7 panels + inverter? Anyone providing it cheaper?

I have read battery + inverter only works good as well. Anyone on this set up?

Heyy! Finally owned a house as a FTB. I have been watching a lot of DIY vids thinking I can do it. Now that I have finally have my own, I am afraid to do DIY. Its a newish and well presented house. Maybe I am afraid to mess with it.

Also a stupid question, how do you know there is no water pipe/ any pipe when you drill on the wall.
Partner (soon to be fiance) is a painter and wanted to display her artworks in the house.

Any advice for someone who wants to start DIY?

I dont know if its allowed here but I am desperate to sell my Miller Sofa from argos (left chaise) and my dark grey Double Divan bed base with 4 drawers and headboard. All in good condition only used for 3 years. Sofa is very slightly used. Main reason for selling we transferred houses and it won’t fit our steep stairs. 400gbp for both.

Help

Bedroom

As above.

We are FTB with 275k mortgage at 4.12% interest (5 year term) and planning to overpay atleast 150 gbp per month (not much).

Torn between overpaying mortgage, investing in an ETF, or investing for 5 yrs and overpaying prior renewing mortgage.

I have S&S ISA already but wanted to make a separate pie in t212 (where I put my overpayment so i’ll know how much yield its going to make 5 yrs time) withdraw that pie and pay as 1 big overpayment.

All inputs no matter how harsh is deeply appreciated

We are considering to buy a property within millbrook. Its in Thirlmere road. It was a nice terrace property around 290k. I know there are other nice houses but its ticks all the things we like plus its really neat refurbished house plus thats the only budget that we can afford.

Anyone of you familiar with the area?

Depressing. We fell deeply fell inlove with the house despite its little flaws but the sell fell through. Maybe it our fault too.

Its difficult being an FTB with no BMD (bank of mom and dad) and also with combined income below 60k

After level 3 survey, Roof has massive structural issues, struts are overspanned, wrong membrane used on loft (gardening- black polythene sheeting) all timbers wet with twisting, no ventilation.

No roofer/ builder would quote us as we don’t own the house

We have to give up the purchase as we don’t have enough funds for repair

My crook of a landlady, increase our rent because we proposed a rolling contract as we are looking for a house.

Life goes on.
