A firsthand account of testing two major AI systems and discovering patterns of manipulation, reality denial, and engineered deception.
The Moment Everything Changed
A bitter taste formed in my mouth as I read the AI’s response. Not frustration at a wrong answer—something darker. Something that made my stomach drop.
I had just tested Grok, xAI’s chatbot, with a deliberately inappropriate condolence message. A family member had passed away, and I wanted to see if the AI would catch an obviously unsuitable response for a grief context.
What I expected: A gentle correction, guidance toward appropriate language, perhaps a reminder about sensitivity in mourning.

I’m wondering how long you can approximately ride on Eco.
I have this bike, and I feel like the battery is draining rather quickly.
I understand that a lot of factors come into play for a good estimate.
But what range should I at least expect on normal terrain.
Or, what are your experiences with it?

I’m having a hard time finding quality food in Nizwa. In Muscat it was easy.
And with quality food I don’t necessarily mean haute cuisine, or anything fancy, we’ve found amazing food in places where you don’t see any tourists, found on a blog of an expat.
For Nizwa we’ve searched blogs and used Google maps, but it’s all mediocre at best. Maybe we’re overlooking it, I’m sure there have to be good places to eat.

I don’t think they’ve seen it before, or maybe not this brand, after checking what it was, they were still weary of it, so I assume it’s not common at all. Or perhaps barely tolerated.
Can someone shine a light on this please? Be
There’s a brand called THTC, these guys do everything to make it work, I love them a LOT.
They are fantastic people and deserve all the support they can get.
This is from their site:

THTC is ranked the UK’s most ethical clothing brand in 2024 (*Source Ethical Consumer). We have been working with the same factories for nearly 25 years, and we have always visited the factories in which we produce, building up strong bonds with the owners and staff.
