TLDR at the bottom.

Hi all, I'm making this post as a sort of PSA as many stores are starting to move towards reopening. This isn't meant to be a blast at the company. They have given you some form of financial stability over the last months. But everyone needs to stay safe and stay financially safe too.

‼️‼️.‼️Here's the short of it: it will be less financially rewarding for you to return to work in unsafe conditions (serving customers at less than 2m, interacting with each other, no plexi, handling cards/money, taking public transit/carpool), than if you remained on LOA and applied for the CERB (the famous 2000$/month).‼️‼️‼️ Math and details below

Edited to add:

I just read a thread from 7 months ago under a meme about how we're not supposed to "admire antiheroes".

What I don't get is that everyone was like "oh well you know, hes a good guy in his own fucked up way. Just cause hes a gangster/criminal doesn't mean he doesn't have redeeming qualities".

People seemingly latched onto his "antihero" status being only defined by his criminal acts. But thats not what makes him an asshole. Crime has never equaled morality, and the show shows us that the cops are corrupt and evil. Historically (and shit even today) this tracks.

No, Tommy and the rest of the family POS for how they treat people and each other.

The people in the thread tried to play up th

Hey all.

Ive been chatting with a more experienced and knowledgeable comrade recently and hes brought it to my attention that online spaces are kinda dogshit when it comes to socialism. His argument is that theory without praxis is useless (yknow "my practice is informed by my theory and my theory by my practice").

I think he might be right, but I was curious what you guys thought.

Personally, Im a pretty new socialist. I got interested in Marx when my (Marxist-lite) history and economics profs presented him and his theories in a less demonizing light. My history of occidental civilization prof specifically mentioned him in opposition to the abject poverty that the rise of capitalism br

Hey all. I tried selling my stocks in december, but the transaction never went through. I finally got things settled in late January 2020 , but they still put the $1115 of the original transaction onto my last December 2019 pay slip.

Whats worse is that because the original (+/-) 800USD$ to 1115$ Cad was sent back to fidelity, reconverted to USD then back again to CAD, I lost like 200$ CAD on that original amount. Final amount deposited by fidelity on 16 january 2020 was 990CAD$. So not only is there a time disparity on my final 2019 payslip, but theres also 200$Cad over reported.

Anyone got any advice? This is gonna fuck me over for student aid FOR SURE.

Thanks.

Hi all. I saw today an article that found that a main river in Cuba had better nitrogen levels than the Mississipi, indicating that the intensive capitalist & industrialized agriculture of the US was taking a larger toll on the land than the subsistence farming of Cuba. It got me thinking. Where could we find good comparisons between different modes of agriculture under different systems? Well why not Russia? From feudal empire to collectivist socialism to fall and crisis to modern capitalism.

So Im wondering what the effect of these different systems was on the land throughout the ages. Perhaps with similar comparisons to western european nations during the same periods?

Thanks. If yo

Im looking for some weapon and armour mods that add lore friendly items. When I play, I almost always stay away from the high fantasy/anime looking items (elven, dwarven etc) and lean more towards more "realistic" looking items that fit skyrims aesthetic: steal armour, brigand armour, ranger, etc. and nothing skimpy. However, this limits my max armour stats and stuff (afaik) since I tend not to touch the higher level armours.

Yall have any good mod options other than the immersive armr/wpn mods? I want stuff that adds padded fur armours, different iron armours, etc, with heavy and light options. Even if this limits me in terms of armour/damage rating, Id still appreciate the variety.

Alright, so I've been trying to get informed about Communism on reddit for the last six months or so, and have been finding it extremely infuriating.

I'll start by saying that I haven't read very much Marx/Engels/Lenin/Mao/Stalin for the same reasons why I haven't read very much Voltaire, Shakespeare or Montesquieu, or even the Bible (its not particularly easy reading, and translations/modernizations can be full of revisions and biases).

Anyways. In most threads I've been in, without fail, there's someone defending China (past or present), the DPRK, the USSR. To me, a lot of the defenses seem like some hardcore mental gymnastics, and often, I feel like arguments boil down to "what-about-is

Alright, so I'm new to all of this, and trying to wade my way through a lot of this stuff. It's all kinda highminded, in-group speak in a lot of places, making things kinda difficult to understand. So be gentle pls.

I think my biggest question is: Why do 'socialist/communist' countries get a pass on the atrocities they commit and not the west? And I'm not asking this to frame socialism or communism as being a backwards or totalitarian ideology, because it clearly isn't. Yet it seems like basically every country on earth ends up being more of the same: The well off minority ruling above the working minority to their own ends.

Like yeah, maybe today China has a booming economy
