As the title says I’m looking for a book that is titled either “Lacy” or “Lacey”, can’t remember the spelling, but I can’t remember the author’s name and there’s a lot of books with this title. it was a book that popped into my head the other day. I’ll give bullet points of what I can remember from the book:

- the book is named after the heroine, Lacy or Lacey

- Lacy/Lacey marries the hero very early in the book but the hero thinks she’s a prostitute because she rented a room in a house other prostitutes were living in.

- hero suffered terrible abuse from his “father” and grew up to be a rotten person, but he has an older mentor who has always treated him well

- hero’s “father” is c

I don’t remember too many details about the book but I remember the preview page for the book. The hero professes his undying love for the heroine and she tells him they can’t be together because she’s still married — and preview page ends with him not only telling her that her husband was dead but also that he killed her husband!

I also remembered how the book opens, which has the heroine riding a riverboat crying over a locket picture of her husband, while the hero observes her from a distance. I don’t remember anything else from the book.

I don’t remember the anime’s name, only remember sparse details about the anime. But before anyone asks, it’s not Venus Wars.

The protagonist was a woman who I believe was a reporter who, if I recall, constantly got credit for stories stolen from her by a male colleague. If I recall she had short blue hair. The real meat of the story was a murderous cyborg that was on the loose who I believe had been originally programmed to protect a politician’s daughter, but something happens with the cyborg’s programming and instead of protecting her sought to kill her instead. The reporter ends up risking her life to protect the politician’s daughter and in the end is instrumental in the cyborg‘s des

I’m looking for a children’s novel last read around 1997-1998, about two girls who run away from summer camp because of the vicious bullying they experience at the camp. They steal and canoe and row off, but during their escape they witness a couple of men in a boat dumping something in the water. The girls think they witnessed a murder and leave an anonymous letter with police about it.

Unfortunately, because the camp reported them missing, everything thinks THEY were killed and dumped in the lake.

The bulk of the book is about the girls trying to get home while also trying to figure out what to do about so many people thinking they’re dead.

I’m looking for a YA novel that I read circa 1998 but I believe it came out in the 80s. The main character‘s best friend‘s parents get divorced and the main character tries to help her friend as as she spirals BADLY. They’re both on the school swim team. Here’s events I remember from the book:

- The best friend shoplifts and is caught.

- The best friend shoplifts again but the main character catches her before store staff does and makes her put the stuff back.

- The best friend falls down a flight of stairs and injures herself.

- The main character fakes an injury so the best friend is forced to compete on the team so she doesn’t get kicked off.

There is also a subplot about a boy l

I don’t remember the season or the episode; haven’t been able to find it on episode list. It aired sometime in 2003-2004. But the song I’m looking for played in an episode of Cinematech that had a segment for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. I do not believe it’s music from the game because I’ve also the song in a separate show, but I don’t remember the name of that show. The song is an instrumental piece of music that is led by a synthesized trumpet.

From what I remember, the soldier lost his arm in the Civil War but I don’t remember what side he fought for. He lives in a town in the Midwest that he dislikes but lives there because his whole family is there. He’s clearly suffering from PTSD. The heroine is a new schoolteacher who he dislikes in the beginning because she supported the opposing side of the war. Naturally they fall in love, but he fights his feelings. There’s a subplot where the wife of one of the hero’s brothers has a high-risk pregnancy, and the family pools their money together to get a specialist from the East to come out and help deliver the baby. The sister-in-law almost dies but it’s because of the specialist and the

From what I remember the hero and heroine were once in a relationship but were broken up due to the machinations of his family. They were an interracial couple; he was Arab and she was Caucasian. He was extremely wealthy and she was not. His family didn’t approve of their relationship and arranged to make it look like she was cheating on him. He believed she was cheating and dumped her. Unbeknownst to both the hero and most of his family, she was pregnant with his child. Later when she’s further along in the pregnancy she tries to see him, but is prevented from doing so and he remains unaware of the child’s existence for years.

I believe the hero owned a bank or a credit union, and several

I don’t remember the title, author, or character names but I remember many parts of this book vividly because of how enthralling the story was. I’ll bullet point parts I can remember:

- The hero and heroine get married (I believe they were strangers who had an arranged marriage)

- The hero has a secret that he has an evil brother. I originally thought that it was an identical twin but I could be wrong. I think it’s like a Jane Eyre situation with the brother. The heroine doesn’t know the evil brother’s existence.

- The evil brother sleeps with one of the maids to have her as an ally but he feels nothing for her. But the maid thinks the evil brother loves her.

- The hero and heroine
