Hi everyone,

I offered to help a friend running a small guest lodge with her internet setup as they're on a 2 Gbps line, but every device connected to it over WiFi only reaches around 20-30 Mbps.

I confirmed that the line itself was okay by doing a speedtest directly off the router (Calix GigaCenter), so the problem's definitely with the setup. The Calix is connected to a Duxbury Gigabit switch, going into a MikroTik hEX PoE, then finally into a MikroTik wAP R access point which seems to be the cause of the bottleneck as it has an old 10/100 ethernet port.

I'm not entirely useless with hardware, but programming's more my thing so I wanted to get some feedback before I go out and buy some

Someone was hired by my company in a managerial role a few months ago that has shown increasingly concerning behavior; he's extremely aggressive and highly insecure, and has been caught interfering with other staff to "teach respect" in remarkably petty ways. Recently we discovered that he has a deeply concerning history of invasive surveillance where he stalked and monitored every aspect of a partner's life until she had a psychotic break.

While disappointing, the restrictions on free accounts were inevitable as they were so good that they made the paid offering worthless. Why upgrade to Super when you could just create a new account to reset your limit? If you're walking up to the free sample plate to grab everything on offer for several weeks, obviously they're going to stop making it available or impose a "one per customer" restriction. The reality is that if you aren't (eventually) paying, they don't want you - this isn't a bad thing, it's basic business.

I’ve been down a rabbit hole of how voxels, biomes, and perlin noise are used in procedural generation but I just can’t get my head around how this game does what it does do well. What I’m especially interested in is how maps seem so structured despite being seemingly random - rivers run cleanly through the terrain without being patchy and structures are always placed neatly on flat ground as if intentionally designed.

How are these accomplished when generating things randomly?

A while back I found a short music video (under 2 minutes long) that featured two black kids running towards the camera at night. One was chasing the other and had a red shirt and was missing an arm, and when he caught up to the younger one he held a paper bag up to his mouth - after inhaling whatever was in it, the younger kid closed his eyes and started floating upwards with the camera focusing on his face.

This isn't hyperbole, almost all functionality on the site is completely broken. I've uploaded a video demonstrating this here, and will bullet-point the issues as I'm experiencing them.

I have an issue with Handbrake where some of my encoded videos will show abnormal preview sizes when uploading to Discord - for instance, the vid may be 16:9 but the preview stretches it out over something closer to 4:3.

Anyone know what's causing this? The videos themselves seem to be fine on Windows, and aren't stretched out when actually played on Discord; though the previews can cause some weird spacing issues. Here's the encode log from my last attempt if it helps.
