Hello, I was just wondering how people who went through the release movement and pain was the first few days after the surgery. Was your arm stiff? Were you able to move your elbow or straighten your arm? How bad was the pain? Was it a struggle to move fingers and your hand? I’m just curious to see how my current recovery is compared to others. Thanks in advance.
They finally scheduled my surgery for the 25th. I’m very nervous because I’ve never had this type of surgery before. How long was the surgery? What surgery did you have for cubital tunnel and how long did it take before you could start lifting things again? Was the pain really bad? Was recovery hard? I work at a daycare with infants and I play video games a lot so I was wondering if anybody knew when I’d be able to do these activities again. Thanks in advance.
My surgery hasn’t been scheduled yet because they’d like to do an MRI on my wrist to see if my ganglion cyst grew back as well so they can take care of both problems at once. Tomorrow is the MRI, but the doctor made it seem like he wanted me in surgery as soon as possible from the way he was describing my EMG results. I have constant numbness in my ring and pinky finger as well as part of my hand. The surgeon had said that based off my EMG results, the only thing that could fix this would be surgery. I’m very nervous about how my arm will feel afterwards and how long it’ll take to recover.
Did you guys gain your feeling back and did your muscles recover? I’m worried with how long this proc
Hello, I recently got my EMG done and have found out that it’s official that I have cubital tunnel syndrome with serious symptoms. Numbness and pain that never goes away in my ring finger, pinky finger, and part of my hand. My appointment to go over my results is next week but I’ve already been told I’d need surgery. I’m just wondering how soon they will schedule it. I know it’s not always the same for everybody and whatnot, but I was wondering how your timeline was with finding out your diagnosis and when surgery was scheduled. (I was told to wear an elbow brace at night, but it wasn’t helping at all so my dr got me into an EMG right away). If you’ve been through this please leave a comment
I had my first EMG about an hour or so ago. The way people talked about it made me think I was going to be leaving crying from how painful they made it seem. It was painful, but not to the extent that I needed a break or couldn’t handle it. I wish I had the information about it all, but clearly that’s going to take some time. While the doctor was doing the shocking portion of the test, she found an area on my arm where she had to mark off each spot where the nerve was “crushed” and dying off or not reacting. It is somewhere within my elbow, but that’s all she would tell me. I’m just so nervous about the results of this test and wish it would get figured out quickly so I can know all what’s g
Hello, I know I just recently posted in here but I wanted to see if anybody had the experience of constant numbness in the ring and pinky finger plus part of the hand. My numbness never gets better and never “wakes up”. It used to be only at night but now it’s ALL the time. I don’t know what to do because it’s driving me insane. I feel like even just touching something with it being numb makes me want to not ever use my hand again. Another thing, even though it’s numb, there’s horrible pain deep inside and it’s unbearable at times. I try shaking my hand or even have tried ibuprofen but it’s just so hard to deal with. I’m just looking to see if anybody else has a similar experience, how did t
Hello, I’m just going to get right to it. So back in October 2024 I had surgery for carpal tunnel and wrist tendinitis on my right hand. I tried telling my surgeon before the surgery date arrived that it wasn’t only my thumb, index, and middle finger that would go numb and painful at night, but that it was also my ring and pinky finger. She basically ignored me and went ahead with those surgeries. After the surgeries my thumb, index and middle finger were all better, but my forearm, hand, and pinky/ring finger would still be numb/tingly and painful at night. Well, a few weeks ago it got worse and my ring/pinky finger and part of my hand have been CONSTANTLY numb. It never wakes up or gets fe
So I went in on Tuesday for my sleep study and was supposed to have an MSLT the following day, but I unfortunately didn’t sleep enough for the test. I only slept 3 hours in total and I needed to sleep 6. I was tossing and turning all night, I couldn’t even get a solid 45 minutes of sleep at a time. I feel so hopeless because I don’t know what to do, I really needed the MSLT but now what? I still have to wait for the dr to read the results of the little sleep I did get, but I just don’t know what else to do. I do have insomnia and was on meds for it but they had me stop those meds before the test. I’m just feeling so down on myself because I know if I could I’d sleep for as long as possible.
So I have my sleep study and MSLT coming up on January 6th. The closer it gets the more worried I am that I won’t be able to sleep for it and get an accurate reading. I know you have to fall asleep super fast and enter REM sleep quickly for it to be considered narcolepsy, but I’m worried that being there and having all the things connected to me will make it hard especially since they’ve had me stop all my antidepressants and anti anxiety meds. I’ve heard that people say that they thought they didn’t fall asleep during the naps but actually had. I’m just wanting to hear how yours went and what your results ended up being. I’m especially worried I won’t get an accurate diagnosis because my sl
Hello, I haven’t been diagnosed yet, but I’ve been having such issues with excessive daytime sleepiness and it being impossible to stay awake at work. It feels as if my quality of life is nonexistent. I feel like I haven’t slept for 3 days every single second of my life and it’s impossible to fight it. It doesn’t matter how much I sleep or what else I try to do, drinking caffeine, trying to focus on something to keep myself awake, it’s as if my eyes have a mind of their own and just close. I jerk awake right after, but I do start dreaming instantly. I haven’t been diagnosed, but they are having me do an in hospital sleep study and MSLT the following day to see if I have narcolepsy or idiopat
Hello, I haven't been diagnosed yet, but have had issues with daytime sleepiness that have gotten worse over the past couple years. Originally a year ago I was supposed to have an at home sleep study done, but the day I got there to pick up the equipment, I found out I had been kicked off my insurance so I couldn't go through with it. Finally a year later I have new insurance and can no longer stand the symptoms. It has gotten so bad that I'm getting into trouble at work. It doesn't matter how much I sleep whether it be 8 hours or 10+ hours, I'm still overly exhausted and fighting for my life to stay awake during the day while I'm at work. I've tried drinking more water or more caffeine to s
