Sincerely, the lack of innovation and creative thinking really turns me off, your thoughts?

I like a lot the look of Specialized Torch 3.0 (third photo) but they are too narrow for me, so I'm searching for wider options. I saw the Shimano RC703, but the white ones (second photo) look TOO white for me, as if I was going to a white sensation party or some shit, it would be awesome if they had some black on it as the specy ones.
So I came to the Sage Green ones (first photo), the convince me like 15% more than the white ones but I don't know, they really don't convince me 100% and I want to feel comfortable wearing them.
What's your opinion about them? how would you wear
Hi all,
I'm having trouble with Specialized Torch 2.0. I'm feeling cramps on the outside of my feet, specifically in the ball of the foot area. It causes some pain after 20km that is decreasing my performance on the bike.
I want to understand if this is caused by Specialized design (the body geometry bs) or my feet being too wide. Thinking about switching to Shimano RC7 wide, do you have experiences with them? Did you have a similar experience with the Specialized ones?
Thank you!
If anyone thinking about changing bikes too, these are the sensations I had over the last week with ~110km on it.
Tarmac > Roubaix
- The position of the body is almost the same, I was sketchy about the Tarmac being less comfortable, kind of the opposite to be honest
- The front end is MUCH more stiffer, feels like a lot more power is transfered to the bike
- I notice I can sustain with less effort >32-35km/h on flats, actually going over 40km/h (sorry imperial friends) is not at all difficult.
Roubaix > Tarmac
- I didn't know the suspension system was that good on the Roubaix, it was always there so I didn't appreciate differences. It actually diminishes a lot of vibrations, your upper
Hi all,
I'm in the need to buy another chainring set and came to a very good deal on a 50-34 one. I've always used 52-36 and I'm acostumed to it (11-34 cogs). I seek for speed often and my FTP is about 3.2 w/kg. Would it be a good choice to buy it? What will I miss (not the obvious lack of pedaling power on descents)? What has been your experience with both?
Thank you!
Hi all, I wanted to ask you what kind of solutions have been provided to your products after these couple months? any problems regarding your current location that affected the quality of the response? any information would be super usefull (I'm affected too).
Cheerss
After two 65km routes with 800m+ elevation gains, these are my thoughts:
Cranks:
- More rounded pedaling, I feel like the effort is distribuited in a more balanced way across different muscle groups, a little more strain on my calves and WAY less stress on quads.
- A need to pedal faster, increased cadence
- There is a little less possibility to push some upward explosive power through pedalling
Tires (25c contis Ultra sport to 30c tpu tubed GP5ks):
- They need direction, they don't go just straight line so you need to be really aware of your point of direction every second
- Rough pave feels way less harsh
- Less effort to start the momentum, and bike feels more respon
"The sustained power which you can hold for 1 hour".
That's what everybody says, but who can really sustain it? To me, holding to a number as your child without questioning the definition does not make any sense.
Lately I've been doing some VO2Max workouts that go from 50 to 60 minutes (basically 5x3 minutes at 110% ftp, 3m rest + ups and downs), and the normalized power output I register is somewhat similar to my FTP.
I know it's not the definition, but to clear my mind, now I think about it as FTP: the max normalized power output you can register on a 1 hour workout.
Not necessarily sustained at all.
What do you think?
Hi all,
I'm getting specific kind of sores after 2 hours on my bike. Before, it was terrible starting from 30 minutes, then I changed my saddle and bought medium quality bibs that work ok (never tried the expensive ones, looking for Q36.5 maybe).
My investigation lead me to three options:
- Chamois butt'r
- Body glide
- Assos Chamois crème
- Solifes Chamois creme antiatrito
The first two are reasonably priced and can be found anywhere in my country, the Assos one would import (or buy from expensive lbs) doubling the price. Which ones you prefer? I read good reviews on body glide, lasting longer, but want to read your opinions.
Thank you!
I don't know about the choice for the first stage of the giro, landscapes for presentation not looking quite interesting to me, and doing laps on first stage sounds a little off.
What are your thoughts?
Who do I wanna trick, it's just for the lookings and because probably better recovery of scratchs after falling. What do you think about it?
Hi all,
In my life I always try to be responsible with my money wasting, so when I want new sneakers I tend to not buy them because I don't really need it. Ok working great.
But in cycling, I'm always on this loop of "well, literally I'm improving my health, It's definitely a good hobby that keeps me active and fit and it's money I don't spend on chicks but me" and proceed to buy:
- one shirt
- one jacket
- some new cycling shoes because mine are old and could injury
- new pedals because my old shoes are for mtb and I ride a road bike
- new cycling computer because I want to measure my improvements
- new helmet because of safety
- and so on...
So where does this cycle ends? I felt guilty
