Hi everyone,

Question 1: I saw separately on Reddit that Genesis wasn't being used for Officer candidates currently, but a poster earlier in this community says her medical records were pulled up in Genesis. Does anyone have current knowledge of whether or not Officer records were also being pulled up in Genesis for MEPS?

Question 2: I went through MEPS in April 2019, had to battle a PDQ for a knee surgery, ultimately got the NGB (National Guard Bureau) Medical Director to review the case and recommend the waiver be approved but by that time (October 2020) the position with my unit had been filled (I was offered a pilot position). This was pretty sad after all of the hard work, and I've b

For example, my lease is up in 2 months and had I not checked this information I would have left $6,000 on the table if I had turned the car in rather than purchase/resell. Now that money can be used for my next car!

Is there anyone on here that is a current recruiter that I can ask a question to? Happy to PM to discuss further, but thought this could be helpful for the group if it's true. It's a medical waiver question-I've been denied 2 waiver requests after MEPS by NGB/SG for a prior knee surgery, even with all of the clearance notes/doctor's reports, etc. I also have a friend going through the same process and denied for same knee surgery (pick chondroplasty/microfracture).

My friend reached out to me a few weeks ago saying that a new reg/instruction/guidance was sent down through leadership stating that a commander's memo of no-objection to the waiver be granted could tip the scale in our favor for

Completed my first solo today, what a surreal experience!! As background, I began flight training out of Oakland, CA, and have since continued after moving down to southern CA flying out of Mclellan-Palomar (KCRQ). I have been waiting to solo for the past two weeks, but due to some rare “weather” in San Diego, we had to postpone. Yesterday I was feeling a bit nervous about whether it would happen today as it was pouring rain (in California?!), and woke up today with lots of clouds. Fortunately, the weather Gods smiled upon me and set the ceilings about 1000’ above pattern altitude, calm winds, and a slow morning at the airport.

We took off from KCRQ and flew to Ramona, CA, did a full stop

I am getting ready to apply for several UPT boards with ANG units, and I am mostly interested in pursuing heavies. I've previously applied for and interviewed with one unit. The interview went well, and there were other really great candidates who got the nod, but I have been invited back for the next round of interviews. I am hoping to find out more about the heavy units' missions, and in particular for those flying C-130s. I know the mission can vary pretty widely, but as an outsider (non-flying military family) it is hard for me to find more information to educate myself on specifics of the mission aside from the generic tactical airlift/airdrop lines.

Any C-130 pilots/crew out there wi
