I got to try one of these devices out while setting one up for work. Now I want one for myself with how smooth it works as my daily driving device. I do have two thinkpads a t450 with linux and a t14 gen 6 with windows but I want to start moving away from windows and use linux but considering mac. I am currently a CS student that is not interested in ML but interested in systems engineering and Networking + cybersec. Is this laptop worth getting? Because I keep going back and forth about it and I think I need reality check.

MBP specs I am considering

14” screen
M5 pro
24 GB
1 TB
70 watt charger

Hello I(21M) just want to know that I doing a good thing for myself. I’m planning on taking one to two semesters off. I have been in school for 3 years with like one to more years left. Since I was 13, I have been living with depression so bad I show no emotion. I can’t stay awake for too long before falling asleep. My mental health is completely trashed to the point that even if I graduated I would feel nothing. Also I have never really had any friends, my life has been just school-home-howework then sleep. So is it a good thing for me to take a break and actually have a life instead of feeling empty all the time?

Hii everyone, I hoping to meet some new people and make some connections to become friends. I am extremely shy so I am not very good at this, but I wanted to give this a try. I am college student right now while working.

I have a few hobbies like gaming, music, art, books and a bit of a nerd for computers and programming. I can mostly talk about anything. I would prefer people who are similar in age like 19-25.

I am considering switching from cs to ee. Context I am a senior in college right now but I have completed my ge’s I have only done three major course so far. I have always had a love for physics and practical math nothing else caught my eye in school. I enjoy working with my hands a lot. For most of cs classes I just feel like I am just going through the motion. I like to code but I just don’t want my whole revolved around it. Should I switch from cs to ee?

P.S I have another year to go anyway before I graduate

I have given up on social life

No advice needed (Vent)

I am honestly done with trying to make friends and making any strides with the social life in college. I have tried and tried to make the social part of college but to see my effort goes to waste. I meet people talk to them for the semester or a couple of weeks and then ghosted or forgotten.

Everytime I bring this up everyone tells me it will get better but it never does. I have heard so many it will get better spiels and lectures that it does not phase me anymore. I am not depressed or anxious meeting new people. I am just not going to keep putting myself through the same cycle every year anymore since this has been the same cycle since middle school.

I just ordered my thinkpad t14 gen 6(amd). I picked the t14 over the t14s mostly for port selection and because it is the same specs but slightly cheaper. However, my question is what should I expect the battery life to be? I have already read that the t14s amd gets 10-11 hrs but I haven’t found anything on the t14 model.

I have a 2007 nissan xterra and I recently took it to get smog tested. All my other obd2 monitors passed except my oxygen sensor which came up not ready, I replaced my battery this year. I just looked through the owners manual and found the drive cycle, but the guy at shop told me to just drive the car 30+ miles didn’t give a specific number. I have already driven for 30+ took it back still isn’t ready said I need to drive more. Do I continue to follow the guy’s advice or do the drive cycle?

So I spilt a little bit of coffee on the top of my pc, so I cleaned it quickly and shut off for a little while, but now my top USB's are not working right all the other USB's are working fine except the two on the top, coffee did not get to any other part of my pc. How do I fix it?

I (19m) have always loved music it was always my escape from the world, so I was already thinking about picking a music major even before starting college. I am already two years in as an undergraduate. I only picked the cs major because I felt pressured by parents to pick a major that didn't really have any interest in, while I wanted to do something that I felt very strongly about in music. However my parents found music degrees like a joke, so I felt embarrassed saying that I wanted to do music even with the risks that came with it. I am a realist, I know the risks with pursuing music but I still want to try being a guitarist, I have already been playing for almost 7 years now. Any advice
