My LDR GF(26F) and I(26M) recently convinced our families to meet each after a lot of struggle, her parents came and went but the whole thing felt a bit vague and off to my parents, especially about the background of their family.

TLDR: GF didn't tell me about her family background of gambling and we even had family meetings, we had to learn this info from another person

We both are 27, plan to marry each other. We live in different states.She had vaguely told her parents about us. We planned to ask for marriage soon.

I am punjabi and she is sindhi,so it is not that of a big intercaste deal.

2 days ago,Her younger brother(22) found out she was talking to me and started beating her up. Her phone is taken away. She is talking to me through email. Apparently the brother has some aggressive tendencies which even the parents are not able to control.

She keeps giving me updates like how her lip/head is bleeding. Her parents are not doing anything to prevent her brother from beating her up. He even almost attacked the mother once. It boils my blood to hear this
