I am coming to Key West during parental leave from Mid Dec to mid Jan. Of course I can look on Airbnb and vrbo, but I am in search of a house to rent while perhaps someone is on block leave, or TDY, etc. I will have my wife and 4 month old baby. The closer to downtown the better; my wife doesn’t drive. Thank you!

The Wabtec facility it Lawrence Park has its own dedicated natural gas power plant. This plant uses support operations for 10,000+ workers, but now it’s not being utilized anywhere near its capacity.
AI data centers are springing up all over this country; the limiting factor seems to be power plant availability. Given the large number of vacant buildings on the Wabtec site, and the excess power capacity that is available from the power plant, this could be a great site for the development of an AI data center.
Does anyone know what the maximum capacity of the power plant on the site is? If it’s 50 MW or more it could be a home run.

My unit is currently scheduled to drive 16 hours in one day in rental vans; 5 Soldiers per van, rotating throughout.
The JTR does not specify a maximum allowable distance in one day (except for PCS which is 350 miles); does anyone else know of an AR or other authoritative guidance that restricts mileage or time?

A friend is trying to rejoin after a 17 year break in service. His recruiter said he has to checks notes take an APFT to get back in. Is this correct? Why the APFT and not the ACFT? If anyone could shed some light I’d appreciate it

Fresh out of the YTB. Big news: USAR HRC has decided, in their infinite wisdom, that anyone who has not completed DLC for their grade is going to be barred from reenlistment.
Yes, the same DLC that Soldiers cannot self enroll in, and many cannot access outside of drill, if at all.

Does anyone know of a good provider of long term disability insurance that does not exclude firefighters?
I make over $100k annually and I would like a plan that covers 60% of my salary for at least 10 years.
Most plans I’ve seen pay a maximum of $3k per month and most also exclude firefighters.
Just for the record I’ve never been off injured and certainly don’t plan on it, just trying to protect myself
