Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a ryokan or hotel with a private onsen, ideally an outdoor rotenburo or a private bath on a balcony or terrace with a view of Mt. Fuji.

Unfortunately, all the places I really wanted—especially Ubuya—are already fully booked for late October / early November.

Does anyone have recommendations for similar ryokan or hotels with private onsen and amazing Fuji views? I'd really appreciate any hidden gems or lesser-known options.

Thanks in advance!

  • Faire Universal Studios Japan

Voici notre programme actuel :

Tokyo (5 nuits)

Jour 1 – Tokyo

  • Asakusa
  • Temple Senso-ji
  • Quartier Ueno
  • Balade le soir

Hi everyone,

I'm planning my first trip to Japan with my wife and I would love some advice on my itinerary.

We will be in Japan for 16 days and both our arrival and departure cities are Tokyo.

We want a good balance between sightseeing, relaxing, food, and not spending too much time changing hotels.

Our main priorities:

  • Tokyo
  • Kyoto
  • Osaka + Universal Studios Japan
  • A traditional ryokan experience
  • A private onsen with a Mt Fuji view (main reason I want to include Kawaguchiko)
  • Nice evening walks
  • A few worthwhile day trips

Current itinerary

Day 1-5 — Tokyo (5 nights)

Plan:

  • Explore Tokyo neighborhoods
  • Shibuya / Shinjuku / Asakusa / Ginza
  • Day trip

Hi everyone,

I’m planning a first trip to Japan with my wife and I would love some advice from people who have already visited.

We have around 16 days and our main plan is:

Tokyo → Kawaguchiko → Kyoto → Osaka → Tokyo

Our main priorities are:

  • A private onsen with a Mt Fuji view
  • A ryokan experience
  • Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka
  • Universal Studios Japan
  • A few good day trips

I have a few questions:

  1. Kawaguchiko + Kyoto

For people who have included Kawaguchiko and Kyoto in the same trip:

  • Did you go directly from Kawaguchiko to Kyoto?
  • The journey seems to take around 4 hours. Did you find it acceptable or was it too much time lost?
  • Would you recommend going back to Tokyo fir
