Back in Dec. 2024 I got a speeding ticket for going 16 mph over (46 in a 30) in my personal vehicle. At the time I wasn't interested in getting a CDL and just paid the ticket, I know now I should have contested it (or slowed down in the first place) but it is what it is. This was in Indiana. Other than that I don't have any tickets or a criminal record.

I'm now interested in becoming a truck driver and I'm worried this ticket will make it harder to get hired. I'm wondering if it's worth it to get a CDL and look for work now or if I should wait until 2 years have passed (when the points fall off my record) before pursuing that. Any advice is helpful, thanks!
