I was inspired by the post the other day about setting up a local DSA branch.

I am a volunteer for a similar non-profit organization, Digital Ground Game. I am currently organizing a meetup for our members, but there are only a few of us in Alaska right now so I figured this post would be a good way to get together with more like-minded Alaskans.

For more info, DGG is a national organization for liberals that encourages members to get engaged in local and national politics to promote liberal democratic values. 

I personally have been volunteering for Peltola's campaign thanks in part to their motivation and support and I hope to knock on more doors with other liberal Ala

Came into work today and my MAGA boss ambushed me with a debate about Renee Good's killing.

Honestly I think the dude is crashing out a bit. I've made posts about these interactions before, but this was the most aggressive I've seen him. He was super agitated right from the get go. Literally red faced. Clearly just looking to fight over it to make himself feel better I guess. IDK.

Watching today's stream when Destiny briefly discussed his interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.

I just wanted to point out a gap in his understanding of what the Amendment says.

One of the most important parts of how we understand it is understanding what a "militia" is.

A militia is explicitly and specifically NOT a standing army. The entire debate that the founders were having was whether or not to have a standing army at all, as the anti-federalists felt that any standing federal army could be turned against a particular state or group of states and effectively nullify any independence they have.

Speaking to my boss last night, and he tells me this story...

A guy that we work with just retired, and apparently he was super pissed at Trump for fucking with his 401K.

So my boss tells him he shouldn't be upset, because TECHNICALLY it wasn't his money yet. As long as his 401k doesn't drop below the specific cash value you that he personally invested, he didn't actually "lose money".

And my boss was so fucking smug about this brilliant logic. He's like "people just don't understand finances"

I can't believe he didn't get clocked in the face by the other dude.

Came into work today, the day after one of the biggest economic upheavals of this administration, and the first thing my conservative, Trump voting boss talks about is Trans Women in sports.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?

He doesn't even know any trans people. He doesn't have any relatives in sports. He has absolutely no fucking connection to this issue but somehow 0.6% of the population possibly being in the wrong sports league is more important than us teriffing the entire planet.

It makes me feel like I'M insane. Like I'm just living in a completely different reality than everyone else.

I am setting up my Launchbox on my new Windows 11 computer but I cannot get Xemu to work. I downloaded the most recent version and got all my bios and HDD image files ready, but when I launch Xemu all I have a a pure blank screen with no options to select those files and get started.

I've deleted it and reinstalled it. I even grabbed an older version from my other computer and tried that and its the same issue.

I've been googling my ass off and I cant find anyone with the same problem.

I have a 7900 XTX. I know compatibility isn't as good on AMD but nothing I can find shows it has this problem.

Any help or advice at all is appreciated.

Obviously last night was a very bad night. All of the anxieties many of us have been feeling for months and even years, came true.

I've been thinking a lot about the way Republicans have been acting for the past decade or so, as well as the way so many people treat them with kid gloves.

I was watching the recent Wick panel about court packing and some of the things Wick was saying were just so incredibly naive and so emblematic of why Republicans are able to get away with so much.
