Hi guys and gals, I've been battling a thermal runaway error for about a week now and I'm all out of ideas.

Basically, I'm able to print the first layer without issue, but as soon as I start the second layer, the nozzle temperature begins dropping. I've looked for shorts in the thermosistor and heating elements at both the nozzle and inside the electrical box, but found nothing. If I heat the nozzle and let it sit for an hour, the nozzle has no problem staying at temperature. The PID has been recalibrated, the heatbed heats just fine, temperature calibration has been run successfully, and out of curiosity, I re-sliced the program (using Slic3r) various ways, all to no avail.

Hi guys, hopefully you can help me out with this.

My neighbor is about 3 weeks away from becoming a first time father! Now he's asking about a cigar the day of his son's birth. He's not exactly what you'd call a seasoned vet when it comes to cigars, but obviosly the occasion calls for something special.

What would you guys recommend? I was thinking something mild to medium that he can appreciate, but not so strong that he's going to be suffering from the nicotine.

Where do I start with this? Well I guess here's some background:

From 2002 to 2005 I received various $100 EE bonds as gifts from relatives and until recently I've just let them sit there without any interest in looking them up. Now that I'm more educated in PF (thanks mostly to all of you here) I've grown more curious and investigated them more thoroughly.

In total, I received 10 EE bonds over the years (summary of bonds/interest rate below) and I can't help but feel that the interest rates are terrible considering my Ally HYS earns more than my highest yield EE.

My question is this: should I cash out these bonds and use them for something more viable (increasing my emergency fund/Roth I

Browsing Mint's "Advice" section, they recommended a Peer Lending network as a mode of diversifying investments. The gist is that one opens an account and you can both lend money to other users and ask for loans from other users. The website claims that this is a "win-win" because lenders receive higher interest rates and borrowers receive lower interest rates.

Thoughts?

I've been playing around with the thought of contributing to both Roth and Traditional IRA's. I'm attracted to the idea that the Roth allows me to contribute at my current tax rate as I'm just starting my career (graduating in June, job already lined up and will be starting around $65-$70k). In addition to that, I would like the idea of being able to control my income level at retirement through a traditional IRA.

Does it make sense for me to open both types of accounts and contribute to each? If yes, what ratio of contributions (Roth:Traditional) do you recommend?
