I have a 2022 iPad Air M1. From time to time I plug it into my 4K external monitor to use as a PC substitute. But I’ve noticed that the UI experience is kind of choppy; things noticeably stutter when moving windows around in Stage Manager and there are frequent glitches as things don’t line up or rearrange the way they’re supposed to.

I don’t use my iPad with an external display often enough to be able to tell if this is a recent phenomenon, but it is quite annoying and keeps me from doing it more often.

Is this just Stage Manager being buggy or am I simply asking too much of the M1 hardware?

Welp, the cold weather got me.

I started my car yesterday in about 10F weather and let it idle for about 2-3 minutes. I then drove off. Going up a hill I felt like the engine was lugging a bit so I downshifted. After coming down the hill I noticed the car misfiring and putting out a cloud of smoke at a red light. I shut it off and then restarted (again, running like shit) to get it off the road and into a parking lot where it wouldn’t start again (crank, no ignition).

I had the car towed home. I can’t do anything today or for the next few days due to the snowstorm but it seems like I had condensation buildup in the CCV leading to oil making its way into the intake and causing the misfires/

Hey guys,

I am in the market for a car and my preferred approach is to buy from a private party. I keep most of my money in money markets via Fidelity and since private party sellers understandably do not usually accept checks, I will need to access my funds as cash.

Is there any better way to do this than by transferring my funds to a conventional checking account (say, Chase) and going to a teller?

Here's the list. My current system has a 5600X that I'm going to give to my brother.

I play a lot of CPU-heavy strategy games hence the 9800X3D. It's also bonus season at work so I decided to treat myself a little. The 32GB of RAM is because I play Cities Skylines, which is a memory hog, and run Docker containers.

Is this MSI board good enough for my needs? Based on my readings it doesn't seem like I need an X670 or X870 chipset.

Can we get a way to set an alert at a specific time, e.g. “40 minutes from now” or at a specific Zulu time, that would pause the game or disable time acceleration?

It would be helpful in large scenarios. I’ve had situations where I’m waiting for something to occur at a given time like units rendezvousing in a location or jets turning around at a base or carrier, then get distracted by something happening somewhere else, and I end up wasting time or fuel.

Like a lot of other people I've been planning to upgrade my AM4 system before the run on DDR5 absolutely killed my ambitions.

I currently have 48GB of DDR4 (I bought this much because I play modded Cities Skylines, which is a notorious memory hog). I also run Docker containers in WSL2 which consume a lot of memory. To get a 9800X3D with 32GB of DDR5, I'm looking at something like $800 for the CPU+mobo+RAM, even with a microcenter bundle.

But I noticed that LGA 1700 still supports DDR4 and you can get a 14700K with a motherboard for literally half of what the 9800X3D upgrade would cost. I know that Intel is a dumpster fire and AMD has been running circles around them, but is this really a

Hey guys,

There is a manual 2018 JL Sport S (2-door) with the V6 at a nearby dealer with 51,000 miles for $21k. It's been on their lot a while so I may try to haggle the price down a bit, but I am new to Jeeps and need some advice.

  • I heard the 2018 model year was rough for JLs. What should I inspect to determine if the one I'm looking at is a lemon?

  • How DIY-able are Jeeps? For reference, my current car is a 2004 BMW E46. I am not an expert mechanic but I've done a pad-and-rotor replacement and a whole front suspension, it's how my broke college ass could afford to drive a BMW in the first place.

  • Is the manual transmission any good? I have a preference for manuals but would conside

I was trying to make a Polish 4th Mech division deck and it occurred to me just how restricted this division is in weird ways. It's the archetypical NSWP mechanized division, mid in almost every way, and that's fine, it doesn't need new units. But why does it get fewer 1-point infantry slots than 39th, which is better in almost every way? It should be a spam division.

This isn't really a Pact vs NATO thing. It just seems like certain divisions are an embarrassment of riches, while others are very restricted, and if they have cheap slots it's often in tabs that don't have good units anyway.

Again, this isn't about the unit choice per se (except maybe the air tab), just that card slots and p

Hey guys, I'm a bit of a newbie so please go easy if I did something stupid here.

I was interested in NTSX as the main holding in a retirement portfolio and I wanted to backtest it over a longer time horizon than its life and came up with this relatively simple portfolio that seems to approximate it quite well:

https://testfol.io/?s=crzVIJDRYBJ

Here is the NTSXSIM compared to SPYTR going back to 1962 as well as a 60/40 portfolio (I used real SPY/TLT expense ratios):

https://testfol.io/?s=jS5Rjo5PGYE

This seems to match what I've read about the asset on here and other forums. The way I understand NTSX to work is, it's 90% stocks plus a bond/cash position levered 6x, akin to a 60/40 port

The bailed out crit sucks. It's infuriating that RNG can cause one of your tanks to just go useless in the middle of battle. At the same time, this is a legitimate thing that happens in combat (see Ukraine on both sides).

My proposal is this: bailing out should be what happens when a tank wants to rout but cannot do so, due to a mobility crit or lack of fuel. This way you can see which units are likely to bail out and protect them preemptively if you can. Higher-veterancy crews would also be less likely to bail out since they're less likely to rout.

BONUS (OPTIONAL): Bailed out units could be "captured" by the enemy using a supply truck. This would simply return some fraction (perhaps half

Does anyone know what I need to do to register my car as a classic in Connecticut? I have a 2004 BMW 330i whose registration I renewed this year (actually it lapsed in 2022 so I had to pay a fine, oops). I don't actually drive the car very much so I was thinking it might be a good idea to register it as a classic to save on insurance and taxes.

I asked the person at the DMV what I need to do to register my car as a classic and they said it's not eligible for that for another 3 years, which seemed weird, but I didn't argue. But something about that didn't seem right to me so I checked and the threshold is indeed 20 years, which means my car should be eligible.

Unfortunately, I cannot find
