Potentially a silly question.

After an update, or a settings change, or something, my Lenovo laptop (16ARH7) running CachyOS (KDE) is running into an issue where its backlight commands (using the Fn keys) not only don't work, but also seem to lag the computer quite substantially, when changing brightness values.
After being pressed, a number does indeed display on the screen (e.g. 0% to 5%).
Attempting to turn the brightness down from 0% does not introduce any visual spikes of lag.

However, none of these changes are reflected in... the display's brightness.

As a troubleshooting measure for other matters, I've attempted to switch purely to my integrated graphics (by changing the releva

Self-explanatory, really.

How do you define social democracy versus democratic socialism, personally? Any good ways you would introduce this to a 'newcomer', of sorts?

Thanks all! :)

I'm speaking as someone who realistically probably falls under the democratic socialist umbrella, but I value the importance of social democracy, and want better ways of exploring the differences to others. Especially given how similarly named they are! I've heard them conflated in even broadly left-wing places.

A genie presents an offer.

She can have submitted a certain amount of money into your bank account every month.

However, you'd have to agree that you would, unconditionally and involuntarily, smile or grin whenever you hear any word or phrase on YouTube's demonitised words and phrases list at any given time. This smile or grin would be as normal, involving all relevant muscles of your face.

How much would it need to be, monthly, for you to accept her offer, if you'd accept it at all?

It would be:

  • something with majority public support in your country, generally speaking

Hi all,

It's been recommended I get a railcard. After doing the maths, I'd save hundreds a year, or around there, to get one!

Railcard vendors

Firstly, I went to get a railcard from Nationail Rail — they literally own railcard.co.uk, so I (perhaps sillily) figured they were closest to the government, or the most 'official' / universal / standardised — but I discovered that UNiDAYS offers a discount on Trainline railcards!

Having used the Trainline app a couple times or so, I thought I'd give this discount a shot, but I discovered it only works for buying yearly railcards, not three-year ones. Thus, I lost interest, but wondered if I'd be better off just stickin

Hi all,

Been rocking a New Balance pair, but I'm not sure if they're vegan and I've been looking to get some new trainers.

Indeed, I don't believe all New Balance trainers are vegan. I saw Veja recommended, but I feel like keeping both my kidneys.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance all :))

Hi all!!!

Turned officially vegan on the 20th!

I've used Sudocrem practically all my life. This magic cream that'll help one's skin, ease rashes or agitated spots, and even send you to Heaven to meet God Himself if you put enough on.

However, it's come to my attention it's (probably?) not vegan. Any alternatives anyone could recommend? I hear of 'Sudocrem Naturals', which may be a vegan spin-off from the same brand, but is it functionally any different? Idk if it comes in the same pots.

Thanks so much all! :'D Would love to hear ANY advice / recommendations / experiences. I was originally wondering if many vegans would even mind, but it's now transpired it contains BOTH extracts from she

Sudocrem...?

Question

I officially turned vegan on the 20th!!

Over here in the UK, at least, Sudocrem is this magical cream that'll heal your skin, tame rashes or agitated spots, and even ascend you to Heaven to meet God Himself if you apply enough of it.

I can find no concrete information as to whether or not it's vegan, though. Some sources suggest it might be made of sheep's wool, with some spin-offs seeming to contain beeswax? What gives?

Apparently 'Sudocrem Naturals' is vegan? Is this functionally any different? Any vegan Sudocrem (Naturals) users out there? I'd love some advice on this :(

Thanks so much all! :'))

Self-explanatory. Got some Knect a couple years back, lost it. Heard it was owned by Johnson & Johnson at one point, and after the horrors of learning about my face scrub being... well, owned by Johnson & Johnson, I realised that, indeed... jelly might be... well, jelly. And, of course, the animal testing stuff.

So, any vegan / cruelty-free lube anyone's using? Apparently they can contain beeswax and whatnot, which sounds bizarre, but here we are.

Thanks in advance all!!

Seems like their chargers use 4G connections.

I'd gladly connect the poor thing to our Wi-Fi, bless it, given that our Wi-Fi hub is gonna be mere metres away.

But surely this is a huge cost to Ohme to keep running, no? Given that they're ALL presumably essentially bound to mobile data SIM cards?

Thanks all. :'))
