Hey there, got my TSP a few weeks back. Been having a blast with it. Started playing Disgaea PSP a few days ago and it was running like a dream until today. I don’t know what happened but all the animations are broken now. Tried turning it off and back on again but that didn’t fix it. On Crossmix 1.21, using PPSSPP with standard core.

My $600 laptop of the past five years is nearing the end of its life. In addition to the thermals getting worse (despite some semi-competent maintenance by myself) the screen and case are cracking and it’s a pricey fix. Not to mention my very limited ram and ssd.

In light of all this my amazing wife saved up $1000 to purchase me a new laptop for my birthday. I know a lot of the simple things about computers but when it comes to processors and best graphics cards and getting a computer with good thermals I’m out of my depth here and could use help with picking something out. I’m cool with using coupons and waiting for sales for the right machine.

I started in the International Socialist Organization (ISO) a lot of years ago. My politics have changed a lot since but are still broadly Trotskyist.
