Hello folks
I have a project that will required to build both window desktop application and android application.
For an andriod part, the hardware is a barcode/tag reader handheld. It comes with 2 SDKs from the manufacturer, the first one written in Xamarin(I assumed it was not supported anymore) and another in Java.
I'm a founding engineering and I want some opinion on which framework/language I should go for. What is the state of .NET crossplatform development? Was it a good idea?
ps. The functionality of the handheld device is to read the tag and be able to save that to the database.(add item) and to be able to remove item as well.
I also need to build a team very soon and if I ca
Hello people
I'm new to RFID and at the moment I'm trying to implement an RFID technology for my friend's retails business. I'm looking into local hardware shop that sell RFID equipment(tags, reader) and seems sufficient for my need. However, all of the reader comes with an SDK, after I looked into the code, I founded that they were written almost 10+ years ago with an old .NET framework. I have no issue with that but I'm seeking some advice on the best way to build on top of this?
Asking for someone who have a similar experience building a software that extend an old SDK. Because if I would build a new software to integrated with this hardware, it will be the latest .NET version. An
Hi folks!
looking for some recommendation here
I'm planning to get a mirrorless camera for my youtube video. It will be just a talking head shot which will be sit still on my desk.
I was looking at Sony zv-E10 which roughly around 900A$ body only. I plan to get a Sigma 16mm f.14 to pair with this.
My question is would it be a cheaper choice if I can find some others sony camera that will do the same job for me?
thank you!!
Hello folks
I'm looking to take my streaming and YT video seriously. At the moment I can only stream during sunny day time as my desk is close to the window, forget about night time stream (looks very bad).
After a few research I found that "lighting" is the most important thing to get first. So I'm looking to get my first key light. I have a decent mic with audio interface and 1080p web cam (plan to upgrade later after get the lighting right).
I'm looking at this one here https://www.amazon.com.au/Softbox-Special-Continuous-Recording-Shooting/dp/B081BTFZ51/ref=sr_1_6?sr=8-6

ps. Video editing skills in this context include after effect or fusion.
Just like what the title said, but I just want to see what other people here think.
I recently started a YT channel, I have many ideas and thought about how to do my video but I still struggle to make it happen. Until I have a change to watch a podcast with Brendan Kane. He pointed out various things which include story telling and content structure.
Then I came to realised, how would one can create a content like what they imagin without having a video editing skill?
This is also due to the fact that when we started out, no one would crazy enough to hire an editor as you never know if you will be succ
Hello folks
I'm seeking advice of how do you guys structure your content.
What I mean by this is how do you manage your long form content VS short form content.
Long form content is Youtube vids
Short form content is IG, Tiktok or shorts
For instance, if I have a long form content ~20-30mins talking about something. ie. 5 things I wish I know....
How should I manage my short form content from my main long form vid? Do I cut into 5 shorts?
What content should those shorts be? Identical to the long vid or just an overview of it?
Keen to hear your thought!
thank you
Hello there
I'm trying to setup LSP, did some digging and found that there are multiple ways to do this.
First I came across this https://github.com/VonHeikemen/lsp-zero.nvim?tab=readme-ov-file
Then he said that he stop doing it because nvim has provide it for you with this https://lsp-zero.netlify.app/blog/lsp-config-overview.html
and in the installation mentioned https://luals.github.io/wiki/build/
However, some of the article also suggest this [https://github.com/neovim/nvim-lspconfig](https://github.com/neovim/
Hello
I'm new to home server and looking for a simple NAS that will do the following
run my own server to host my projects (mostly websites)
file storage for my version control
simple storage for videos and images (not that many)
Budget is roughly 500A$.
I'm not sure if NAS is a good choice, but I like its aesthetic.
thank you!

Hello
The title is a little bit too shallow, let me explain.
I have an application using .net and React.
We have a production environment where it acts like a centralised system. This means the data that flows to the app can come from different sources (customer portal facing or our backend customer management). This make our staging and our local environment can't be replicated.
Lately, some of the bugs that we can's catch on local go into prod. And bugs that happen in prod can't be replicated on local.
And no we can't replicate any data source from prod down to any other environment due to security regulations.
What are my options to prevent that from happening or to
