Canceled today after >10 years. I'm sure we could negotiate lower fees every year but ain't nobody got time for that.

GPT Astra exists. We migrated completely to Xero, which we were using anyway for our books, and built out tooling to smooth out Xero's rougher interface. In an afternoon.

Our GPT Pro subscription is more than covered by what we're no longer paying for Harvest, so it didn't even end up costing anything.

I understand how the Bending Spoons strategy worked pre-AI but they're out of their minds if they think people are gonna stick around any longer than it takes to have AI find/build a replacement and do the migration.

I've been a long-time Larson Davis user but I think it's time for a change.

I abandoned Windows over 2 years ago because I couldn't take any more of the enshittification, with ads being in the operating system and forcing me to have a MS account just to use my computer. I moved to the fresh air of Linux and I'll never go back.

To get data off my LD meters I just run G4 in a Windows VM. It's not terrible, but it's not great, either. G4 was already clunky and slow and in a VM it's just worse. And it's just not an intuitive program. All I want is to get my data off the meter, like we did with G3.

I'm more than capable of writing a program to run in Linux and get my files, especially in the a

Selling my loved but unused Geshelli Erish2 [E2]. I got it on Head-Fi in 2022 for a bedroom headphone rig and I just simply never listen to it.

I'd call it flawless. In the 3 years I've owned it it has just sat in a cubby without being touched, except for maybe 10 cumulative hours of listening. I used it to power my Arya Stealth v3's which, of course, sounded great.

It has the $70 Purple Heart wood option with Smoked Glass. The original owner also ordered a matching wooden knob, which is no longer available. He also added a little white stripe to the knob which is just a sticker, but still a nice touch. Ordered new today this would be over $300, as configured. Includes all of the origina

Back for sale, again. This time I'm sure.I had decided to hold onto it in the spring because I thought I might use it out on the CT but, alas, I decided to use the Durston anyway, confirming that I no longer need this tent.

Z-Packs Plexamid, blue, 15.2 oz including stuff sack - $300 shipped to ConUS (PayPal G&S, Venmo both fine).

Bought new from Z-Packs in 2020 and used it for maybe 25-ish nights, mostly as I section hiked the Colorado Trail. Has the titanium struts. I'm not aware of any damage. I really like this tent but as I get older I've found that I'm more interested in a tent that I can spread out in and I'm wiling to pay the weight penalty.

My last car was a Volt and it made the same sound after I plugged it in and it started charging.

But the Prologue does it so loudly that it literally hurts my ears, and my ears aren't that sensitive.

Has anyone found a way to make this sound either quieter or go away?

I have a project where I need to deploy multiple microphone+accelerometer pairs for simultaneous measurements lasting about a day. Would need to log 1/3-octaves for both. The measurements are indoor so no weather or power concerns. I don't have enough instrumentation to do this with my own gear.

Except.... I do have a PCB 485B39 2-channel USB interface, which is capable of being Type I, and the transducers to go with it. I also have an extra laptop.

Is anyone aware of a software package that I could use to take these measurements on the laptop and the USB interface? Linux is preferred but Windows is OK if necessary (which I know it's likely to be).

I've been working on my own software pro

The gear cleanout continues.

I have a trip in two weeks that I want to change, right now it's FNL -> DFW + FNL -> DFW. Want to change the return to DFW->SGF and SGF->FNL. After flights are chosen, United says the new itinerary is $1402, take away the $804 already spent for the original itinerary for a net $598. OK.

I open a different browser and don't sign in, then check just buying the complete new itinerary, all 3 trips, as if a new passenger, choosing fully refundable fares for all legs, and the total is $873.

I have both open at the same time, these fares are quoted within a few minutes of each other. I thought that maybe the shopping cart that got the flights first would quote a lower fare, so I made sure to get

Here is the beginning of something I've been developing off and on for quite a few years. I've got it to a place where I'm comfortable showing to the public and I'd love to get your feedback...

The idea is similar to Insul, which I imagine all of the professionals here are familiar with. You put in your partition design and it spits out a prediction. Unlike Insul, however, this also uses a vector search to find actual test reports for similar partitions, which should save you the time you currently spend sorting through your spreadsheet or folders full of PDFs or however you're currently doing this.

Z-Packs Duplex, Blue, 18.9 oz including stuff sack - $420. Purchased on this sub in 2022 in like-new condition. Used it 2 nights in 2022 and then 3 nights this summer on the CT. Can't find anything wrong with it at all. This summer it got me through the worst storm I've ever camped in and it held up great.

It seems that, in a STAR system, the incentive is to vote in a 3-tier fashion. Highest score goes to your favorite(s). Second highest goes to those you approve. Lowest goes to those you don't.

It also seems that every voting reform advocate who doesn't like Approval says that they are worried their 2nd will beat their first.

So how about a system that is Approval with an extra column for your favorite or favorites? The Approval column gets the top 2 into a runoff and then the winner is decided based on the 3 levels of preference on the ballot. Favorite > Approve > Not marked.

The mission of Approval is to identify the candidate with the biggest tent - the one that the most voters can agr
