I was conducting a safety audit in California and the client was concerned with seismic bracing of racks, cabinets, and other furniture. They were concerned with the safety of their employees that in the event of an earthquake these items may tip over and potentially strike them.

Does anyone here know if there are any published standards or regulations regarding seismic bracing of nonstructural items for guidance on keeping their employees safe.

Hello everyone out there in safety land. I occasionally do work in California and was curious what the regulations are for seismic bracing of cabinets, storage racks, server racks, furniture in general, etc., was. All I could find was a reference to the California Building Code and ASCE/SEI 7-16, but the latter reads like stereo instructions.

Anyway, thank you all for looking!
