What exactly do I need start learning to be a Chief Financial Officer (CFO)?

Hey guys!

So I have always wanted to learn more about finance and with the hopes of one day, becoming a CFO or a CEO of a small startup. I do have an aeronautical and mechanical engineering background that doesn't really equate to financial competency. But however, i do not currently have any finance or accounting background and will like to be able to get some knowledge on the basics of finance.

So what i am asking from all of you is what exactly i need to learn to be able to achieve basic and advanced financial competency. I'll like to know what topics, subjects and skills are recommended, it will be greatly appreciated!

So first things first, ill give u guys abit of the backstory, grab your popcorn cause its gonna be long. First off .shes a great girl with a genuine heart, she loves to help others and is extremely understanding. She is supportive, smart and charming.

 

We first met back in highschool and we had a pretty rough start, we first starting getting close together when my best friend back then had a crush on her, but she didnt feel the same way about him, then he went all crazy, threatening to kill her and everyone else.
