After a career in Linux I stepped into a project based on Windows Server, Microsoft SQL, ASP, and a whole grab bag of Windows software. I'm so happy to finally not have to write tiny bash scripts to automate my system setups and finally get to flex on my coworkers by writing giant powershell scripts to automate things like installing services and making firewall rules. Its very handy to write out inis to pass to installer exes to set up things exactly the way I want and even more handy to find the necessary functionality in unrelated dlls. Probably the best part is paying at least 5k per machine on software licenses and something called client access licenses which makes my bosses more confi

Hi all. I have a cRIO with legacy software, drivers and RTOS from 2016. For record-keeping I attempted to image it using the RAD Utility per an older manual. The image extracted successfully but I cannot for the life of me get the thing out of Install Mode. Manual resets, power cycles, etc simply boot it back up into install mode. The cRIO is a legacy dev machine we keep around to help troubleshoot some support cases so it would be nice to get it back in operation!

Hello esteemed ExperiencedDevs!

This month I'm settling into a new role as the only (and first ever) software developer in a department which has a long history of code written exclusively by electrical engineers. There are some very janky HMIs and poorly normalized databases I'll be reworking to get them up to actual softdev standards, but that part I'm already very confident in.

But I'm looking to up my game in electronics and embedded. I have a decent working knowledge in microcontrollers, bare metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux, but I want to be able to have coherent system architecture conversations with the engineers I work with and be able to understand the PCBs and other electronics i

So obviously I've been having fun, having spammed runs for 10 hours. Currently running Hazard 3s with 2nd class mod unlocked for each class. That said, I have noticed some things. I haven't been reading reviews or taking in any outside opinions on the game, so this is purely my own thoughts:

- Meta-progression is very barebones. Other Survivor-likes put a lot of power in meta-progression systems. Here you get relatively bland incremental stat bonuses at a steep time cost. In the future I hope to see more meta-progression covering a larger possibility space. Strap warheads onto your supply pods, increase nitra/gold/mineral yield, reduce gold reroll cost, add/reroll/discount options in shop
