2 friends of mine (they're partners) have recently decided to go vegan! I'm super excited and want to send them a care package of a bunch of vegan ingredients and foods to get them going. I'm hoping to help them discover some foods they didn't know about, or didn't realise were vegan.

So I'm wondering if anyone here has any suggestions for gifts that can be nice in this situation? E.g. I'm thinking of getting them some vegan ingredients like kala namak, nutritional yeast flakes, and some vegan snacks.

I'm looking to create a simple one-page UI and would also like to give Qwik a try at some point...but I was wondering if there's really any value in using qwik in that way. In particular, I'm looking at the vite template for qwik that just uses javascript/typescript, without qwikcity, and when built just serves up an index.html file with linked js & css files.

In this case, is there any advantage at all to using qwik? The html file doesn't describe the content at all, so I don't see how 'resumability' could come into it, since the client will have to render the app's html.

<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">

Hi all - sorry if this I'm just a bit new at rxjs, but I'm encountering weaker typing than I expected in Observable.subscribe, and was wondering if anyone here knows the reason why (or if I'm making some kind of mistake).

I've edited the default angular stackblitz to show the issue I'm talking about. Essentially, I have a union type in an observable, but when I create the next closure within the subscribe method, the typechecker is fine if I annotate the parameter with only one of the values in the union type. In this case, 'Goodbye', instead of 'Hello' | 'Goodbye'.

This can easily cause runtime type errors,

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for tools which could help with this? My hope would be that I could view each page of the SPA and see, annotated in some way (tooltips, popups?) the API(s) that each particular component relies on to get information. We use a lot of microservices at work, so I reckon having a very intuitive, visual overview of which parts of the app rely on which APIs would be handy for general documentation, but especially for onboarding (some of them have really terrible, unclear names).

The straightforward way to do this afaik would just be to clone the pages into figma and annotate it there, but that can easily become decoupled, and doesn't really seem li

As a beginner to writing larger programs, the overall organisation of my codebase is getting a bit messy, so I figure being able to visualise all the dependencies between my modules would be very handy as I attempt to refactor. Does something like this ghc-pkg command exist for internal modules?

Alternatively if I'm barking up the wrong tree and there's an entirely different way I should approach this problem, I'd appreciate any tips.

This is just something I've been wondering about lately. I'd assume that new converts are mostly convinced by some combination of: personal testimonials, positive christian examples, apologetics, supernatural experience, and some part of the bible 'speaking' to them in some way.

However, I just don't really see how that leads to the degree of reverence most Christians seem to give the Bible. Sure, as a Christian, miracles are far more plausible, so I can see how as a result, a lot of the Bible also becomes more plausible than it is for people like myself. But even so, to say that the bible is more reliable than any other historical text we know of?

I just honestly can't work out where th

So while re-watching Mob Psycho 100 it defaulted to the English dub and I gave it a try for the first episode, but I finally decided it's alright but I prefer the japanese dub.

I try to switch the language, only to discover this. Do some shows just have a massive paywall to get the other dub? I ask because in Australia, a local anime streaming platform called 'Animelab' recently in the last few months merged with Funimation and forced a migration to their platform, so I'm not that familiar with how Funi works.

It does feel pretty bogus though, considering this was never the case with Animelab and we are already paying to stream this content - why is some

(Reposting from beginners thread)

Hi there! I've just done an installation and wanted to add intel microcode to load at boot as per the final install guide step - but I'm dual booting and the 100MB efi partition windows created doesn't seem to be enough when I try installing intel-ucode:

error: Partition /boot too full: 9574 blocks needed, 3123 blocks free
error: not enough free disk space
error: failed to commit transaction (not enough free disk space)

So I'm thinking I'll need to resize the efi partition, but to do so I need to shorten my root partition and move both it and my windows partition to the right. Not to mention I don't even know if resizing esp is a safe thing t

Pretty much title. I tried asking in the beginner's thread but didn't get any takers unfortunately...anyway, if you can help, I'm basically making something like a D&D character creator SPA where multiple characters are stored and switchable between at any time. So my plan was to have several objects, one for each character, and nested inside those would be deeply nested objects containing the character stats, info, etc. E.g. something like this, but with a lot more fields & nesting:

const character = {
  stats: {
    strength: 20,
    dexterity: 32,
    ...
  },
  abilities: [
    {
      type: "type1",
      effects: {
        physical:

So I've been trying out doom emacs for a while, and I really like using the fold module. I use evil, so it's za to toggle a fold and zM to close all folds. I especially like that one, because it lets me look at the overall structure of my file. However, once I added tsdoc-style documentation, this was no longer possible, since the comment sits right above the function, not inside it, and therefore takes up about a 3rd of my screen real-estate per function.

The fold module seems to be based on emacs' hideshow mode, which appears to work for multiline typescript comments when I use it manually, so I'm having difficulty seeing why the comments don't fold too when I run zM.

Anyway, if a

Curious if anyone else has had this problem. I replaced my battery the other week as it wasn't lasting that long and read as ~2300mAh on Accubattery. But after replacement the battery was even worse, reading as ~1600mAh. I thought perhaps a bad battery had been inserted so after going back the repair store kindly did a second replacement - however the capacity was still just as bad.

They tell me that they use official batteries, but I am a little skeptical, having never seen the product before insertion. It would certainly be poor business practice to fraudulently use bad batteries, but I am having a lot of difficulty understanding what else could be the problem. I was using BlackDiamond an

For whatever reason, all my text besides the default emacs splash page has text spaced like this.

All I can think of that's changed recently which may have had an effect is a recent system packages upgrade for manjaro, and that I ran M-x all-the-icons-install-fonts earlier in order to get the doom-modeline looking right. I tried manually deleting some of the fonts it installed from ~/.local/share/fonts but it doesn't appear to have had an effect.

Thanks for any help :D I couldn't find any similar problems online.
