I have been keeping 4 nymph mantises, all of them healthy, eating and drinking, etc., really cute and all with different personalities, nothing unhealthy or bad happening at all. I had been covering their small jars with plastic wrap with holes in it for air to come through, they could hang from it, and it sticks on the small wars very well. My favorite mantis, already two weeks since he hatched and with a calm personality, who ate very well and never gave me any problems, is now gone. Someone decided to move the jars, and somehow the plastic wrap came off the top, letting him to escape in to my dry house without any food, and as a nymph the perfect place for him to die. I just lost my favor

Mantis first shed

General Care

My Chinese mantis hatched a few days ago, and as it was the only one of the ones I kept to survive the first night, I want to make sure it survives. I have heard that the first shed is the most dangerous time for mantises, and want it to survive. What should I do to give it the highest chance of surviving?
