7800XT stutter

Tech Support

Hello fellow gamers,

I recently upgraded my GPU to a 7800xt nitro+, but in high FPS situations, like overwatch 2, the card stutters sometimes. Like going from the desired 160fps down to like 80 for a second. In general, the FPS are not stable. Before a match it hovers in the 100s regions. That can't be right?

I tried setting everything very uncompetitively on ultra or max just for giggles and because I thought I could. 3440x1440p. Is this the dreaded "AMD driver issue"? CPU: 5600X PSU:750W SSD: 980pro nvme

My m8 suddenly doesn't turn on anymore. Basically just instantly because just seconds before I used it. I already contacted the support and they suggested removing the SD card, pushing the power button for 10 seconds. I tried that but no avail. also adding power (I use a good quality charger plus the shipped cable) doesn't do anything. Has anybody encountered a similar problem? I really want to try all the options before sending it back for repair. My next idea is to let the battery run flat (and thus all the caps) and then try to charge it again. Thanks!

I know the comparison between the 5600s has been done very often but I never read anything about the time of launch and it's impact. Is the X version at a disadvantage because it's 2 years older? Are there any different tricks used in the non -x?

Hi,

I am planning to upgrade my sweet prince 1080 to a 3080/3080ti by the end of the year. But the R5 1600 will be a huge bottleneck (I think). Should I rather upgrade to a R5 3600, because my MB only supports up to the 3000 Ryzen (ASRock AB350 Pro4), or should I get a 5600, which implies a new MB?

Thanks!

Hello! I am experiencing a rattling noise in one of my cylinders (right one) with my RD200/1E8 ('76). Because there are obviously no valves, I am thinking it might be a bearing grasping on it's last straws? Is this a possibility? Or is it just a normal noise from an old two stroke/ noise from the mechanical ignition distributor? How does a dying bearing sound normally? Thanks for your help!

Hi, due to the falling GPU prices, I am playing with the idea of getting a 12GB RTX 3080, while sticking to my trusty OC'd Ryzen 5 1600. Checking for a bottleneck online, the 1600 and 3080 are still somewhat fine together. I want to continue using it, but I know somewhere in the future I will upgrade the CPU as well. And due to the power hunger of the 3080 I was wondering, as I upgrade my PSU as well and with it all the cable management etc, if it would be smart and/or necessary to upgrade the Mainboard (using the ASRock AB350 Pro4 rn) to the newest AM4 model that still supports summit ridge. The upgrade will be scheduled around the 4000 series release. What are your thoughts?

TLDR: upgrad
