Explain to me why it would be entirely inappropriate to wear an SS costume to a bar costume party, but acceptable to dress as Ed Gein, or a pervert in a trenchcoat, or a used tampon, etc? Full disclosure: I have an imitation SS Obersturmführer uniform that was created by a costume maker out of San Francisco from an East German military uniform, very similar to the one Ian McKellen wore in the 1998 film Apt Pupil with boots, cap, etc. No red armband, but it does have the eagle w/ swaz sewn on the sleeve.

I wore it to a bar Halloween party around 15 years ago and the response was relatively positive; high fives from guys, people coming up to me speaking German, and surprisingly women were

Grandparents here with a two year old toddler we watch semi frequently. My wife is the mother of the dad, and I am his step dad. Dad is mid 20s, we got married 5 years ago. We watch the baby overnights and day time, basically we do what we can to help the kids out and try to align ourselves with whatever coaching and training the parents are immersing their child in.

Right now it is potty training. I think the child is becoming more aware of what is going on down there, and is probably ready to get things started. The parents have decided they want to "crash course" the training and expect to get rid of the diapers in a couple weeks. Ok, fair enough. I can't blame them for trying.

Corporate Body Shops Discussion

Question about the Trade

I am sure many people here started in a small privately owned body shop that was sold to a corporate concern, such as Gerber, Caliber, Service King, etc. For many techs " I am just here to fix cars" only takes you part of the way into the new corporate culture, with QC sign offs, meeting participation and daily huddles becoming the new daily routine.

How do you feel about the changes? Are they making your work life easier or more difficult? What do you like the most about the new culture? What do you dislike?

How have these changes affected your relationship with the shop manager? Do you feel like they are as effective as they should be or over stressed due to added workload?

Hi everyone, I thought I would throw out a PSA on collecting WW2 Germany war memorabilia that perhaps some will find helpful. Through the years I have seen hundreds of online posts by people that appear to be earnest in learning but don't really know where to start.

If you want to learn more about authentication, you need to invest some serious time into learning about whatever it is you want to collect. I know, kind of an obvious thing to say but even the best and brightest get fooled now and then. Basic adages are solid, in that if it is too good to be true it probably is. The chances of you finding an SS helmet at a flea market for $500 or a Pilot Observer badge for $300 just isn't goin
