In my latest playthrough I was trying to speed through the community center while largely ignoring social reputation. Which means when I finished the community center (winter of year 1) it was my first really big boost of Marnie reputation. She gave me the Cave Carrot quest in the morning, and I dropped it off on my way into town. And also picked up the Lucky Shorts. Then I headed into town, and triggered the Community Center completion cutscene.

As Lewis congratulated me, and handed me the Trophy, I got a "journal updated!" notification. Yes, evidently as he handed me the trophy, I handed him his lucky shorts. In front of literally the whole town.

What use of dissonance in classical music moves you, touches your heart, makes all the nearby consonant intervals and triads sound cheap and flavorless in comparison?

A couple that come to mind for me: "Pur ti miro" from Monteverdi's "L'incoranazzione di Poppea". That semitone interval on "piu non moro" is the one of the sexiest things ever written. Another favorite use of semitones in the Baroque for me is the opening chorus Bach's St. John Passion. The oboes dive right in with exposed semitones between their lines as the strings churn away underneath. This isn't the erotic intimacy of the Monteverdi, but anguish. Stunningly beautiful anguish.
