I’ve seen a few posts elsewhere on Reddit asking what people can practically do to oppose the act after having signed the petition.

  1. Join a campaign group working on these issues. Donations help them work on lobbying, press, reports and responding to consultations etc

They would include

Article 19 - https://www.article19.org/ Big Brother Watch - https://bigbrotherwatch.org.uk/ Open Rights Group - https://www.openrightsgroup.org/

  1. Write your MP or visit them

Write to your MP about the act - https://www.writetothem.com/

Or this tool - https://action.openrightsgroup.org/tell-your-mp-online-safety-act-isn%E2%80%99t-working

Try and attend a surgery and speak to them in person.

I’m an aging rocker. Who has attended many gigs on my 40+ trips around the sun.

And yet I find myself so emotionally impacted by seeing Ghost live. I had the most amazing time seeing them with my wife who I am deeply in love with.

They have me feeling giddy like a teenager again.

How are others who saw them at Manchester or Glasgow coping with it now being a memory.

Today I went to the gym and listened to them, now the music is entwined with that amazing life experience and memory, meaning even more to me.

I just thought I’d start a thread for others to share how they are coping with post show!

The UK's Online Safety Act is really bad for small independent sites. It requires anyone hosting 'user-to-user' services such as a small web forum to undergo a risk assessment. The owners of the site then have a legal responsibility (with the threat of losing your house levels of fines) if they don't comply with a range of measures to try and tackle online harms.

One of the sites to close is a UK webforum for single dads. See- https://www.dadswithkids.co.uk/ams/forum-closure.28/

Meanwhile the regulator OFCOM has announced its enforcement priorities. [https://www.ofcom.org.uk/online-safety/illegal-and-harmful-content/enforcing-the-onli
