Spouse Influence

Location included: Questions/Need Advice

Located in KY but more of a generalized question..

My husband and I are in our early 40s. We are both only children. He has no inheritance. I am currently set to inherit over $1m in cash and properties (current market rates). I do plan to set aside some of this for our 2 children (14 and 6).

My predicament is this:

I’ve been a SAHM for 14 years. I understand that I have not contributed financially to our household and the retirement accounts we have are in my husbands name only. We have been discussing potential plans for the future.

My in laws have minimal interaction (their choice because I’m not his first wife so in the eyes of god I’m not his biblical wife) with our kids while my p

Husband of 16 years (together for 20) said he really doesn’t need sex any longer in our marriage. He prefers oral sex (him receiving) over vaginal sex. His reasoning is it’s a lot of work and his stamina / ability to maintain an erection during intercourse isn’t what it used to be so it just isn’t enjoyable for him. He tried to say he’d be happy to give me oral anytime I wanted it instead of sex but he’s done that maybe 3-4 times over the last few years so it’s not like he’s going to start going down all the time to avoid sex.

We’re in our 40s and we will be 43 (me) and 46 (him) this year. My libido has exploded since I hit 40 and he’s made comments several times about not being 20 anymore

My husband gets an annual physical since he is on daily medication. He had his physical about a month ago and said his doctor recommended STI testing. We’ve been together for 20 years and married for 15. I felt this was a bit strange for a doctor to recommend for a monogamous couple.

I had STI testing done during each pregnancy with our children which is routine in our state. My tests have always been negative for everything. Last one was done 6 years ago.

In the recent weeks AFTER his doctor recommended STI testing (which he said he didn’t have done) he has mentioned it 2-3 other times. He brought up how his ex wife found out she had HPV after we had started dating and if I have been ch

I’m a 42F married to a 45m: together for 20 years, married for 15 with 2 kids.

We’ve had a fairly stable relationship except for an emotional affair (he still refuses to admit it was physical) he had 10 years ago. We worked through it but I told him if it ever happened again I would not forgive as I did that time. We got pregnant with our youngest 6+ years ago and he was a complete surprise after years of fertility issues and miscarriages. Adding a 2nd kid was a bit rough for him because of our age and having an 8 year age gap with our kids. I’m a SAHM and he works early hours so he is gone before the kids get up for school. He doesn’t help with after school activities because he needs to

Sports Equipment Replacement

Teenager 13-19 Years

A post about teens expenses got me thinking.

If your child plays a sport and can still fit into their shoes/practice jerseys do you still replace them each year?

My daughter is 13 yo and plays volleyball. She plays school and club so she’s practicing/playing for 9 months out of the year. This does NOT include the off season when she is still using the same shoes/pads/shorts to practice on her own 2-3 times a week. We bought new shoes and pads in October 2024. She is still in the same size shoe as we approach school tryouts.

She’s asked for a new pair of shoes which will run about $140. Her current ones are in good condition but in the past we’ve bought new shoes each year because she u

My husband and I are about to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and I’m confused on what to get him.

Traditional: crystal Modern: watch

What would you like to get from your wife? What’s an anniversary gift you’ve gotten that you’ve loved?

He doesn’t drink liquor so I don’t think crystal bourbon glasses would be a good idea. He can’t wear a watch at work otherwise I would get him an Apple Watch.

I have kids that play sports. I have a lot of photos and videos from their games saved on my iPhone. What is the best way to store all of the photos and videos so they aren’t on my phone?
