I'm joining an existing campaign of level 3 characters (in fact... I'm already in it, my previous character died) and I'm rolling a Path of the World Tree Barbarian. Not only have I never played a Barbarian, but I've never even played a martial in 5E or 5.5, and it's been like 15+ years since the last time I did in any system. I've long preferred spellcasters and the battlefield control role (you can see what attracted me to World Tree), so I kinda just want to run down my guy's basics and make sure I'm doing everything reasonably, and also very open to any pointers, off the beaten path things, or just fun ideas to keep in mind when playing this class / a martial in general

So maybe this is a bit broad. But I'm a level 3 illusionist wizard and as such I have the ability to cast Minor Illusion as a bonus action.

The combat cycle of "cast a concentration spell, then use MI to create a crate to hide behind" seems simple enough. Or using MI at melee range to create a cloud of dark fog and move away from an enemy without provoking an attack of opportunity. Or using MI to create cover first to give yourself advantage on a spell attack. All of these seem pretty clear (I think, right?).

But in all of these contexts, how would you rule what actually makes an enemy NPC take an Investigation check on the Illusion? And when do they actually get the check? Since it's an

I'm coming up on level 4 for my Wizard (Illusionist subclass) so I will have an ASI / feat to select. I have 17 Intelligence, so a feat that'll let me also bring my Int to 18 is desirable. Obviously War Caster is kind of the go-to, and every guide I've looked at stresses its importance, but I'm kinda fishing for other fun options. My mind keeps going to Telekinetic, which just sorta feels more... fun? Not to mention it gives me an additional cantrip which I love.

I guess what I am asking is, as someone who's never played a Wizard to level 4, just how essential is War Caster? Should I consider other options that might sound more flavorful or fun like Telekinetic (or even Telepathic)? I'm try

Beat the DLC last night and just running around looking for secrets right now. There are three gestures in particular that seem very lore-significant and I'm wondering if anyone has found any uses for them:

  • O Mother (we know this gesture gets us into the Hinterland, but wondering if there are any other places to use it -- have tried it in front of a few other Marika statues with no result)
  • Ring of Miquella
  • The Two Fingers

There are a few seemingly obviously places to try these gestures... for instance I tried The Two Fingers in front of the Two Fingers at Roundtable Hold, but nothing.

Was wondering if anyone has found any other uses for these, or any other interesting gesture inter

So I'm fighting the Ice Worm. I've been using a tank build with dual gatling guns, a songbird, and the special weapon they give you for this mission. I keep getting him down to that final use of the rail gun and then just not dealing enough damage there to actually kill it. I even re-spec'd my OS tuning to have higher % damage from both kinetic and explosive weapons and... it's not enough damage. I absolutely unload into his face there at the end, get him down to a tiny sliver, and he recovers and the mission is over. I feel like I'm missing something obvious here because I keep failing what is otherwise a pretty easy boss battle.

Simple question, if I dual wield Blasphemous Blades and kill an enemy with both swords (eg an L1 attack), would two healing triggers proc or is it just one per enemy death regardless?

I could test myself but haven’t reached Rykard yet in my NG+ playthrough so I currently only have one, and didn’t know if anyone knew offhand. Thanks

I’ve been pretty out of the NJPW loop for a couple years now. I haven’t seen a Shingo match since the BOSJ Finals against Ospreay in 2019 (which was amazing) and now I wanna shore up on him before Wrestle Kingdom.

I assume I ought to watch:

vs Ospreay at Dontaku

vs Okada at Dominion

vs Tana at Grand Slam

vs Evil at Grand Slam

vs ZSJ at Power Struggle

But are there any other key Shingo matches or segments from his quest for / defense of the HW belt I should see? Including G1 highlights which I totally missed out on this year

Thanks bruvs
