Does everyone just play ash and imperm on the first turn just because

I just won a duel after my opponent destroyed all my monsters during his main phase I had only dark magic circle on the feild and he had 2500 atk on the field with his entire turn in front of him after summoning 2 more monsters he surrendered because he messed up his combo. I was willing to though it out and take the butt whooping I literally had one card in my hand and no play at all and he surrendered c'mon y'all this can't be what y'all want this game to be?

I'm not lying there's nothing preventing my effects yet he's not even glowing

Hi my master duel profile is badd I'll put my id later as I'm not home at the moment I am not new to Yu-Gi-Oh but I've only been playing master duel for about 3 months I am a duel links player learning master duel and I'm stubborn in my ways I purchased vortex of magic and added some complimentary cards and I can only compete in like 30% of my matches and it's frustrating anyone who's gotten the wrong message from my tone I apologize
