My 8 month old has always had guard dog tendencies. Not really a problem so far, but lately on walks if he sees something out of place, another dog, or a person, he will stop and PLANT himself, and stare. I used to pull him along and say "its fine" after letting him check it out a second or two, but lately he will NOT move. I have been trying the technique where you wait for their attention to break for a moment (ie glance away) and then call them along. That works usually, but often he wants to stpp again after a few steps. Or it will be a problem bc i NEED him to move but he is fixating too long and wont break his attention soon enough. I lure him w treats sometimes but i read its not grea

I'm looking for a cleaning service to help my elderly mother with keeping her house clean. Regretfully, I have not been able to help her as much as I should, so the house has gotten pretty bad and will need a significant deep clean before maintenance can start.
Can anyone recommend a service that is reliable and thorough, but also kind? Its a bit of an emotionally delicate situation. I used to clean houses myself so I know jobs like this aren't always desireable. That's why hiring a team with the right culture is important to me.
Thanks for any help!
I have a 6 mo old pit mix that recently had allergies and sensitive skin issues emerge. We are figuring out what he needs, should avoid, and a grooming routine that works. But i can see that its simply gonna take some trial and error. I have been trying my best to manage my anxiety around this but this is my first dog baby and I just need hear that it can and will get better from others who have lived through it. Thank you.
I have a teen puppy that would love some more stimulation. Are there any dog sport type clubs nearby? I know the canine ranch has some but thats awfully far. He is a terrier mix so some kind of sniff/hunting game is probably ideal. Thanks for any help!
We adopted a terrier mix puppy a few months ago, he's 5 months old now and I love him. Training is going great, but this is my first time raising any puppy, and I've come to learn that terriers are a little bit harder to train supposedly. I want to hear about your journey with your terrier, some pitfalls to avoid, things that work well, stuff they love, the pros and cons of their personalities in your opinion, and your perception of how they're different from other dogs!
Anyone have any recomendations? I was looking into Barking Hound Village day care but the hours aren't ideal for me and I'd prefer if it was only puppies he would be with. Idk, maybe it doesn't matter. A good doggie day care recommendation would also be appreciated.
Alternatively, if someone has a puppy around 5 months old who wants to meet up at Sweat Mountain, that works too!
GA Power is so expensive. I'm trying to see if there are any other companies that service East Cobb, and Marietta Power & Water came up. Has anyone used them?
I am overwhelmed and confused by wedding planning and am in need of a planner to help me with my max 50 guest wedding. Nothing too fancy, just simple and nice. Can anyone recommend a wedding planner that they were happy with?
I have a master's in mental health counseling and have some experience working in non-profit and for-profit treatment centers (substance abuse). However, I wish I had studied Public Health. I would prefer to work in a research-oriented role, or even something like policy or regulation. I have been looking into whether I could find a qualitative research position at a government-contracted consulting firm, or even in ux or market research for a tech company. I love to study behavior science and investigate questions.
I was thinking that by building on my mental health education (which included basic research methods and emphasized interview skills) with some intensive self-study and online c
