I was thinking about stat rolling at the beginning of a game.
I've always seen people ask for rerolls, or complain when their stats aren't as high as the others.
And while I'm personally not too fussed about low rolls. I did want to find a way to get those more extreme stats while keeping consistency between players.

So I thought: What is my main gripe about point buy? The fact that it doesn't have those extreme highs and extreme lows, it's pretty tame.

so what if you raise the max to 16, instead of 15 and the low to 6, instead of 8.
All stats start at 6 and you have 39 points to spend, each stat you raise above 13 (14, 15 and 16) cost 2 points.

you'd be able to get arrays like:

I am a DM for a 5e game in a somewhat generic high magic medieval fantasy setting which is more or less going to be a sandbox kind of game, however, I do want some ideas for plot (with hooks) that the party could pursue. Not looking for world-ending stuff, but monsters to fight, bad guys to defeat and reasons to help the helpless!

I'd love to hear what you guys have come up with for your games, perhaps tell about how your party beat the encounters you set up for them so I can add to it and make the parts that they found less enjoyable, more enjoyable!

So I don't leave you guys empty handed, I'll offer a quest-line that I've ran previously, of my own making.

The party arrive at an Inn alon

Speak with dead says that the spirit that animates the corpse can't learn new information. However it does say that it is able to recognize you as an enemy if you were for instance, hostile to it in the past. And of course it can answer questions you ask it.

But this is kind of confusing to me, what information can it learn and what information can't it learn? if it's able to recognize you, would disguising prevent that? or does the spell give the spirit information about the caster?

It'd really help me if someone could clear things up for me, as I want to rule this spell correctly when my players use it and don't want to prevent them getting information they should have been able to get

Recently in a campaign, a player used a two-handed weapon to make an attack, and then wanted to pull out his light weapon in his off hand to make an off-hand attack with his bonus action, while holding the two-handed weapon in his main hand. At the time, I said yes, but only for that one time. But I am curious on what your opinions are. Is this allowed in RAW / RAI? how should I rule this going forward?

If you allow a Lycanthrope at your table, would you have an Owlin were-bear turn into an Were-Owlbear? (Not asking about direct statistics. Just as a visual aspect) I haven't spent much time DMing Lycanthropes at my table, but if the day comes I want to be prepared. How have you dealt with Lycanthropes at your table? (Besides just saying no.) Obviously just turning them into the statblock of the owlbear would be overpowered. But I personally think that having it be mostly flavour would be the most fun at the table, perhaps give them natural weapons much like the Beast Path for barbarian. Perhaps change their size to one larger. Maybe a few other small features like keen senses. These are jus

Hello! I'm Sigma and I would like to commission an artist to do two pieces of a new character.

The character is an Owlin Barbarian/Rogue. He has a large build like an Owlbear, has large owl wings on his back and has light feathers with darker/brown accents.
The Owlin character is a rogue who has a brutal side of him where he enters an uncontrollable rage. That's why I want two pieces of him, One where he is his normal self. and a second piece where he looks feral and bloodied.

I wish to aim for a $60 total budget for both pieces ($30 each). Looking for relatively simple artworks. I am able to pay via Paypal.

Lets say you had a character in a campaign who went on their own adventure which lasted until, say. level 10.
Then a new campaign rolls out in the same setting and you want to roleplay as that same character. but powered down to the rest of the player's levels, say. level 3.
How would you roleplay your character being at a lower power level than in the previous campaign? I would like to hear your suggestions, as I personally don't really know how to do this.

The new horns in 1.19 are a great addition, in my opinion. Especially in a multiplayer environment where you can communicate with a friend from a distance by blowing the horns. However, in Singleplayer, you can't really do this. You can hear your own horn, but other than that, it doesn't have much of a use. But, what if it did?

My suggestion: Have pet wolves howl back at your horn. When you blow your horn, wolves within range of the horn will howl back at you (Maybe howl differently depending on which horn you have.) and this way you'll know where your wolf might be hiding.

I think this would be a neat feature for us singleplayer enjoyers!

Hello! I am Sigma, a 19 year old Dutchie who's been playing DnD for the past 3 years, DMing for the majority.

I am looking for a party to play with as a player. I love both roleplay and combat aspects of the game and i am quite flexible when it comes to settings.

Will you please take me in? I promise I will be a good addition to the party!

Hello! I'm Sigma, and my friend and I want to play against eachother to see who is better at minecraft. We want to do this by completing a bunch of challenges. And it would be awesome if the minecraft community could help us by suggesting a bunch of fun challenges to complete!

These challenges can be pretty elaborate, We generally want them to take around 15 minutes, or longer. They can range from building competitions, to PvP, to redstone!

I'm looking forward to seeing the creativity of the Minecraft community!
